What is missing when it comes to the moronic calculations of tariffs is who proposed this to the clueless President? The strategy of these draconian and unjustified tariffs are to bring U.S. business to heel to this corrupt and unscrupulous administration. It is one more attack on the institutions of society in their self-serving bid to cement their role as unopposed authoritarians. The question that needs to be answered is who are the propagandists behind these dishonest and spurious tariff proposals.
Peter Navarro, for one. Treasury secretary Scott Bessent in the past few days has been carefully distancing himself from that charge by intimating that he was not in the loop. He's urging other states not to retaliate and reassuring people that these tariffs are a 'high-water mark', a ceiling not a floor. Sputnik, the commerce secretary hardly seems a likely influencer since all he does is follow the course set by Trump. It must be disconcerting for all the members of that cabinet of sycophants to see Laura Loomer's influence on Trump outweighing their own.
Actually, without any strictly religious motives, we may be in the end times, climate-speaking, since we evolved like most other things today, in a cooler-than-average climate era. So now since we’re heating everything up much higher than that in just one or two hundred years, despite all the benefits, we and other cooler-world organisms may not survive a 2-degree Celsius increase over “preindustrial” global average temperatures; although there is geologic evidence that the Earth got a whole lotta hotter at certain points in times past than most things alive today have evolved to withstand.
