I cannot believe how much I learn when hearing, or reading you. And learning this leaves me horrified, but hopeful. You always leave me with faith in Americans, even though I cannot believe that so many Americans elected a fascist and are trying to do it again.

I cannot believe that the GOP has become what it has! Broken, resigned, and weak and you explain this all so well.

I still believe that sanity will prevail, and that there are more Americans who will pick Democracy over the other horrifying option. I think that women in this country will hold Democracy.

As a woman, I cannot believe how angry I am at the loss of my personal freedoms. November is coming. And so are we!

Interesting low comment count on this outstanding overview of where We the People have come to.

While dangerous to speculate, it seems ideals such as freedom and liberty and democracy do not exist like a living presence for “The People” until the threat of their loss pounds at the door. And even then many perhaps most continue faltering.

Perhaps who we unknowingly constitute ourselves to be is at the core as “to be” is generative “to be American” and all that idea claims.

Do we have guts to create/generate our identity, to declare who we are such that the needed actions for workability for all are taken? Do we have that kind of heart? That kind of courage to own the entire human race and its humanity?

From a slightly different angle if seen as do we empower a few (a ruling class) or empower the bulk of us, the middle of the bell curve (a middle class)? The question then is can I empower my neighbor, the people down the street or across town, or in the surrounding country? Do empower all the unknowns, those not rich and famous, the "ordinary" people? Can I give the great unwashed "them" all I have? Do I have the confidence in myself that I can turn it over to them to be on my team and carry the day together?
