I remember years ago driving from San Francisco to San Diego and hitting LA at the start of the afternoon rush. Oh my God, it took for ever to get across LA and out the other side. And I remember once flying into LA and having the sensation that it stretched from one horizon to the other. I imagine lots of folks just get attached to their little part of LA and avoid the freeways that way. Great Mexican food, however, and dim sum to die for.

That's very true about not getting out of your own part of LA. And of course the Covid made sticking to your own neighborhood even moreso.
