Truth hangs by a thread, and you're holding one end of that thread while we all tug on the other. Please just say, "I'm taking two days off, I'll be back," and then do it. We need you to be well more than we need the daily report we depend on. It will be all right. Just do it. This is your 79-year-old grandma talking.
Please, no apology necessary. I recognize the Herculean job you are doing to analyze and synthesize the endless amount of information that is hurtling at us. Thank you for every word that shines a light on the truth. You are a gift.
Please don’t apologize to us. You are doing the best that you can. You were doing so much more than anyone else I know. Thank you for your part to save our republic.
I’m so grateful for your letters. They’re truly the one thing I’ve come to rely on for the best presentation of the day’s events. I want to ask you how you’re managing the stress of being immersed in the hellscape of horrors, all the time. It’s hard not to feel hopeless and scared.
I thought as much from the timing of your post on FB. Putting yourself to bed at 3.30 am...i had to laugh thinking that we would now know when your emerge later in the morning from your herculean nocturnal struggles with politics and history. At least 7 hours sleep is essential to maintain your hectic life and to be able to help us all in the way you do.
Ditto Mary! Absolutely no need to apologize. Ever. And, please always feel that you can take a break when you need a rest, or some time in nature to revitalize your soul, or to simply sit in a chair and stare into space. We'll be here when you get back.
So wonderful of you to let us know and clarifying. I do subscribe to Facebook so I found the post there. Since I had noticed that some people commenting last week that they weren't receiving emails, I thought that maybe with such a huge subscriber base some of us would fall of the list from time to time. So tried I subscribing again found, the post wasn't up on Substack either and realized it was probably a website or server issue. As it turned out to be! I want to add my voice of gratitude to all the voices in the comments commending you and thanking you for your deep commitment to this work.
You are a national treasure. You don’t need to apologize to us. Ever.
Ever. I’d feel better if you took more days off!
Amen to that!!

Well, I'm 72 but we all chime in, I'm sure!
Never apologize - these posts are like power bars for my sanity!! We owe you so much!
No worries. If this is the worst thing that happens in the past 24 hours, I will be ecstatic!
Don't hold your breath.
AMEN!!!
As if you could help it! You apologize way too much! Thanks for this wonderful service you provide to help us all hang on to a thread of sanity.
I, too, have (mostly) broken that habit. I call it "woman's disease"
I have a friend at church (when we used to go there!) that was in the 'don't say you're sorry so much' camp. We women sure do that.
Thank you! But please do take care of yourself...I worry (in a very motherly way) that all these late nights take a toll! ❤️

You are forgiven, sweet Heather. But I must admit, you were missed when we woke up this morning. I’m beginning to feel slightly like Pavlov’s puppy. 😉
Pretty sure I’m not the only one worried about you — you are working so hard. Please rake good and gentle care of yourself, Dr. Richardson.
I would nominate you for a Nobel Peace Prize . . . but gee, the competition is so STIFF, I mean, ridiculous, I mean, STIFF.
What about the prize for literature too. It would be a great and worthy follow-on to Dylan.
No worries.....we just worry that this is taking a toll on your health. We do hope and pray that you are practicing self care. You are amazing!
