Getting old? You are using that as an excuse and smarty pants sarcasm again for being plain rude including when it is not necessary. Some are hopeless because they do not hear themselves and don't understand the reaction they get- Not to mention that SOME don't know how to have a conversation or what is actually related to it. Yeah you missed a lot.

I did answer to you your question right out of the gate, repeating myself. That is no excuse for your response. You are still trying to excuse yourself. Here's a question for you. Do you know how to have a conversation? Here is another question: why don't you contribute your answer?
I agree. When you get snark, or a punch, though, it needs response...gentle as possible but strong. I have tried not to name call, but I guess my pushback can be so construed... ie "smarty pants" (rather mild imo).
The problem with Biden's speech is that he is talking to a select audience and what he is saying needs reverberation and repetition and discussion. It's not enough for some of us to read it, if we do. I find that people, even here, do not know how to discuss with respect.
I agree with the lack of effective and repetitive positive messaging on behalf of what's best for the future of this country. Not even most Americans got a sense of what Joe said. A sound bite, maybe. But that's all. Speaking of punches, they're thrown all day long from tfg. Without responses.
In the meantime Trump will keep that s**t flowing, keep the crowds cheering, keep the distraction away from messaging that should be about his crimes and how dangerous he is to our democracy.
Some media commentators do a very good job, but it's ( we are) stovepiped, channeled into various media that have cultivated their own audiences with similar sensibilities, worries and concerns.
Many complain about the Democrat's messaging. I do. It's like they don't have it in their genes to fight back
One of the big revelations of the Trump candidacy and presidency is how many of our people, who supposedly should know better, who should be better educated ( not even necessarily formally) and should have a firmer sense of morality, what this country's goals and principles are, have been so vulnerable to Trump's emotional projections, so caught in Trump's web... and those riding in his tail wind for power.
He must be stopped and overwhelmingly stopped.
Surprisingly, I was listening to Cassidy Hutchinson (on her rounds) being interviewed by Nicole Wallace the other day. She made some very good suggestions about how to talk to Republicans. She's a great example and is doing us a great service by giving these interviews and I suppose with her book though I have not read it.
Yes for sure. Two related points: There is such a barrage, unstopped by the law or Trump's need of free speech ( which does him in all by itself). Especially with criminal cases pending Biden cannot take the time nor use his political capital to go after each outrageous lie, threat, hate mongering, self-inflation from Trump and his helpers to carefully curated audiences. This and the polls gives the impression he, Trump, has multitudes of support.
Biden must speak to the American people like he did in this dedication speech. There is no equivalent countering to what Trump says without getting in the mud with him. He's trying to counter, albeit not often enough so far, by going higher. The cheering Trump crowds like low. But there is the vast middle. If they can be put off by worry about Biden's age, ignoring Trump's age and mental unfitness, that would be good for Trump.
Maybe there will be stronger pushback when official campaign season starts, but it's started already. Biden's MO has been doing his job and trying to advance the goals for which he was elected as much as possible given the opposition. He's smart to use his power and energy to get what he can done now. But the need to talk to us is still there.

Well, you didn't answer the question.

Gentlepeople, please don't fight each other. We're all in this together. Re-read Biden's speech and take a deep breath and let's get to work.

Most do.
