You make a good point that media are responding to the situation by using the MAGA framing of the situation, when they should be celebrating the achievements and continued competence of a seasoned politician and a decent human. However, NPR is not the only one doing it. It is a general shortcut taken by all media, and we must find a way to reframe the debate.

Some are hopeless because they do not hear themselves and don't understand the reaction they get- Not to mention that SOME don't know how to have a conversation or what is actually related to it. I agree. When you get snark, or a punch, though, it needs response...gentle as possible but strong. I have tried not to name call, but I guess my pushback can be so construed... ie "smarty pants" (rather mild imo).
The problem with Biden's speech is that he is talking to a select audience and what he is saying needs reverberation and repetition and discussion. It's not enough for some of us to read it, if we do. I find that people, even here, do not know how to discuss with respect.
