I have paid more in federal taxes in the last three years than ever previously--as my salary has fallen in value because of no raises at all. These are existential issues that the Repos in the Senate, sheltered as they are because of taxpayer-funded platinum healthcare, pensions, and protections, refuse to acknowledge. I don't even think about the deranged resident of the White House in this context: as a pathological narcissist he isn't capable of empathy anyway.
