Another bit of Heather's stellar work from yesterday, a comprehensive 17 minute interview by Michele Martin as follow up to Heather's LFAA, that "America’s gun free-for-all is a symptom of the takeover of our nation by a radical extremist minority.”
Heather Cox Richardson: U.S. Politics "A Tyranny of the Minority"
Thank you Ellie for the interview of HCR on her major themes in the LFAA Essays. And, the interviewer, Michele Martin, was able to delve deeper with Heather as did your comment & Link. Ronald Reagan's cowboy act started early when he lived in Pacific Palisades & was hosting TV s "20 Mule Team for Borax (don't ask) where I first encountered him & Reagan was shilling for General Electric ( GE). Reagan was a prior Dem but, early malevolent political activity started in the Screen Actor's.Guild. FULL DISCLOSURE: I lost a $5 bet in High School that Reagan would never be elected Governor of California.Yup, Goldwater had his Arizona version of the mythical Cowboy. Note, businessman, Rick Caruso, "former Republican" is running for mayor in LA in the June primary sits on the Ronnie Regan Presidential Foundation per Axios' Hans Nichols.
You brought back some memories. I was around 16 when Reagan was elected Governor. I was horrified and remember thinking that if he can be elected Governor of California, he can be elected President. I remember that moment so clearly! My introduction to Reagan was hearing my mother say "...that awful Reagan selling GE!". Mother would never buy GE, but I did enjoy the 20 Mule Team program!
Wow. I've started a new job and don't often get to read the comments these days. I'm so glad I took a few moments to listen to this recording of Heather's wisdom. So many powerful connections she makes for us! Thank you for sharing this, Ellie.
I thought about this more today. Thanks to Heather, we have a deep understanding of very troubling events, including the historical context. I guess it's simple: if we truly know what's happened and why, responding to it is easier.
Your work has been stellar this week. It helped a great deal. Thank you.

Powerful. “…we all must pitch in to reclaim the meaning of American democracy.”
So agree. The opposite of this meaning is what is so vociferously being mandated upon we the people by the minority.
We must have “faith with works” as Mallory McMorrow puts it.
Roar!
Thank you, Ellie.
Faith with hard work = hope. As Jane Goodall explains it.
Yes as Mallory said so powerfully!
Wow, thanks, Ellie. Somehow I came across The Road to Now: https://www.theroadtonow.com/episodes/heather-cox-richardson-235/?fbclid=IwAR2QC0bFo1o_Gw8ZmQkK6CmAf1HbvXTU-Y3g8fRFWksy4IyRcb35a-jOX60
I believe there have been two prior episodes featuring her.
Thank you for the heads up on this.
Ty Ellie. Professor Richardson has been busy. Everyone wants to know, WTF happened to us?

Yup. Reagan was quite affable with that casual style.
Thanks, Ellie, for posting this. I'm passing it along to friends who are likely to watch it.

Thanks Ellie, this interview is a good substitute for a LFAA *AND* has audio and video!

Exactly!
Amen, amen, amen!
Yes, Michael, her steady reporting did help a great deal. And we can't tell her that enough.
