At present, we still have our democracy — it barely survived Herr Trumph through the good graces of some people who, finally, refused to heed his demands and stood in the way of his putting cronies and lackeys in place to stage a coup.
We still have the current administration that is NOT an autocracy, however much we wish it were less militant at times and feckless at others. We still have a bit of our judiciary left, even though the SCOTUS is a mess right now, it’s not all destroyed.
I certainly do not want to get people all het up about taking up arms and fighting each other. That way lies chaos, death, and no promise of a new democracy. Let’s decide to keep the one we have, instead, and do everything we can with the tools of our current democracy — ESPECIALLY OUR VOTES — and get people to recognize what’s at stake, and get them NOT to vote for a Republican [or for a spoiler, either].
Sadly, I’m not convinced there is ANY Republican who will keep our country on a Constitutional footing, though one must note that Mr. Pence did refuse to upend the last election. I don’t want that theocrat to sit in the Oval Office, but I hope we get someone in there who will hold the line
