I almost said that I can’t believe what trump is doing, but I can. We all can because we knew what he was during his first term. He is even more dangerous now because he joined up with the Heritage Foundation. All of their plans are coming to fruition. I am praying that Congress will wake up and pull the emergency break! If they don’t, the America that we once knew will be gone forever.

Big money has been given the keys to the U.S. Federal Bureaucracy in D.C.! Megan Rothery has the right idea, the question is will her efforts to get Americans of their dead asses and onto their dying feet will be enough. I don't know about how everyone else feels but this fight cannot be left to others. Everyone American who counts needs to stand up and give all politicians hell about their behavior and lack of sincerity in the efforts to do what they were elected to do.

I get many dozens of reports, emergency emails requesting money, requests to sign petitions, political action committees reports, political blogs and regular news reports from a variety of sources. I could spend all day reading, responding and commenting and reposting. It could be a part time job. I subscribe to a handful of those like yours. I am so totally overwhelmed and feel helpless at times. I feel frustrated and even afraid of what I see happening that is being unchallenged. I have been warning people for years of the dangers of Project 2025, a 2nd Trump presidency, Christian Nationalism, White Nationalism, the rise of fascism in the US and other issues. What do I get of Facebook? Crickets. Hardly a like. I belong to a church books study group , mostly made of seniors in their 50s to 80s and each week I hear people express concern, grief, fear and frustration with this administration and what they see happening. I hear over and over how much it scares and depresses them, including me. We formed a political action groups locally. A lot of small towns in our area have done similar and have staged peaceful protests in our small towns. We just had one with 100 people. Not bad for a town of 4500. Most of the people are over 50 and remember WW2 and the Nazis and what happened in Europe. Many are Vets and have seen war. They are all very very alarmed as we witness the erosion of civil rights and the tearing apart of our government agencies that serve us all and the dividing of the American people through propaganda and seeded mistrust. This can only lead to more civil unrest and that is probably the plan, confuse and divide and then declare martial law thus conquering and totally controlling all aspects of our lives, that is the plan of PROJECT 2025. That plan was created by an Evangelical, Corporate and extreme Political Think Tank in oder to take ouse our government an the Nation giving power only to a few. Project 2025 has been in the works for some time under the guise of reform, not so at all. Total control and disruption so certain players and powerful elite entities can take control, seizing power, and resources. They need ultimate control of all the mechanisms of culture and society, even religion, and a compliant work force. Yes, this is happening and I still do not know what effect our little grass roots organizations will have. Us old people are getting tired, we have been activists already many of us. Where the hell are the young people? I have had to limit my exposure to all this day in and day out as it was affecting my mental and emotional health. I still post daily and read and study what I can manage. This is not my career, I am retired. I have a life but I can't just sit by and wring my hands or bury myself in activities that serve as distraction. I recommend a book by the very erudite Madeline Albright - Fascism: A Warning. She lays out clearly what is happened with copious historical references drawing comparisons to Hitler, Mussolini and other autocratic fascist type governments. Some who our President admires na has taken cues from. I am so sorry for this long "comment." Sometimes you got to just speak your mind. Do not be afraid to write or call your congressmen or senators, many times if you need to, be persistent. Flood their emails and offices with your concerns and anger over what is happening day to day. We will weather this storm together as we have many others and democracy will prevail and we will repair the damage that is being done to our nation, our economy, our freedoms and most of all our national soul which I believe will and can overcome tyranny, despotism and fascism in any form. It is a good idea to contact representatives in Congress. However, whenever I’ve tried to call my representative. The mailbox is full. This is not an occasional occurrence, but a regular one.
I am happy that someone credible is willing to share these facts with us. That Big Beautiful Bill is nothing of the sort.. There is no reason in the world that we should cut medical care to the poorest in order to give a tax break to corporations and the wealthy. It not only increases the national debt, but it also is immoral.
Diversions will not work, Donny Dork! Our eyes are on the draconian, life threatening CR bill and shall not waiver! The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) errs greatly in its analysis of the Big Beautiful (CR) Bill. They fudge where (future interest and future inflation) you can’t argue with them. First of all, their starting point misses $1.5 trillion in the first 2 years.
1) CBO overlooks that the first 2 years will be impacted by budget additions with no offset until the 2028 tax year. The current CBO-projected annual deficit? $1.9 trillion, and we are over budget $200 billion right now! Because of huge CR add ons, the annual deficit will be $2.5 trillion over each of the next 2 years. CBO had estimated those 2026 and 2027 deficits to be $1.8 and 1.7 trillion, $3.5 instead of $5 trillion—that must be borrowed at much higher interest rates than CBO uses. 2) CBO uses 3.5% interest on Treasury bonds. That is far below the 4.91% that we current “enjoy” due to falling worldwide buyer-investor confidence. 3) CBO says inflation will be calculated at 2% when it is now 2.3% and heading higher. Tariffs will hit inflation hard! 4) U.S. interest and inflation projections should not be discretionary for CBO. That is how they get to saying hogwash like $2 trillion ADDED over 10 years. It should be formula-based. Average of the last decade perhaps. 5) CBO did not tell you they are talking about ADDED means added to their $52 trillion total deficit estimate for 2035. 6) They see $54 trillion as our total outstanding deficit in 2035. I see $56 trillion if Republicans cut $13 trillion with the Big Beautiful Bill. We need a tax cut like we need a hole in the head. The fiscal irresponsibility is unfathomable. What I don’t understand is how Trump can just speak things into law. He says that there’s a ban on certain foreign nationals coming into the US. Can he just do that?
A LOT of what he's doing, he can't, but he's doing it anyway to get away with everything he can. He is a sociopathic criminal. He is devoid of any personal ethical limiting his behavior. He doesn't think any laws, rules, protocol, or standards of behavior apply to him. Whether he can or not depends on us stopping him. The messed up thing is most of his power is in the power of the Office, there's always been an assumption of trustworthiness in positions of leadership & authority. It's very different to suddenly not have that apply in any way, for there to be NO accountability. It's going to take all of our best efforts & best minds to stop him & his sewer clown regime.
