Thom Hartmann explains today's yellow journalism, which basically comes down to Follow the Money: Billionaire media owners' self interest in maximum profits, minimal taxes, and deregulation, which is fueled by publishing spectacle and "inversion of expectation." Click bait: "If it bleeds, it leads" and sensationalize the extraordinary rather than the boring ordinary.
All this started when Reagan ended enforcement of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987, which opened the floodgates for far right wing media: Rush Limbaugh’s national talk radio in1988 and Rupert Murdoch’s Fox “News” in 1996.
Yes-of course they would seize the media and support Trump to maintain power and wealth. Divide and conquer has worked so well for them. Dividing the Dems is a winner at this point. So sad for America and the world.
Our children and grandchildren will be the losers as the future will be chaotic, hateful and violent when Trump and the Rs take power again.

Thanks for the link. In that substack post it notes that
“The media’s Anti-Biden noise isn’t an accident:
— CNN: CEO Trump donor
— ABC: CEO Trump donor
— CBS: CEO Trump donor
— NBC: CEO Trump donor
— MSNBC: CEO Trump donor
— Washington Post: owner anti-union billionaire Jeff Bezos
— Wall Street Journal: Owner: Rupert Murdoch
— New York Times: CEO Trump donor.”
Sorry Joan. I posted the same thing. It jumped out at me as well.
So donate to the Lincoln Project. They target CFDT and his followers better than anyone I know of.

This list from the article jumped out at me. Fortunately only 57 million homes now have cable and that number is likely exaggerated.
A popular meme this past weekend that went viral on social media, for example, says:

Thanks, Ellie. I appreciate the link.
