Yes, the president is a performer. All politicians are. That’s kind of their job. They do their job by performing speech acts. It is what democracy is founded on. I would also have trouble dealing with Trump’s bullying and lies, but I am not running for president. But I do know how to handle it. You don’t respond to the mantras, but present your own vision. Which the president failed to do.
When it comes down to reaching the disengaged undecided voters who'll elect our next president, a TikTok video is exactly what they'll be looking at. 15 seconds of Biden looking incapable of running a washing machine, much less a country.
