The big ugly bill will hurt the most vulnerable Americans. My partner lost her DEI civil service job because of the fascists. Now we may lose our healthcare too. My colleagues and I will do everything we can to resist from within the government. We are gathering evidence of the many crimes committed by the Orange felon’s minions: https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/dei-public-servant-fired

It’s done…from here on, this administration/regime and it’s lemmings are responsible for all the harm it causes. No Excuses. #bloodmoney

If we have learned one lesson from his big ugly bill it is that republicans must be defeated in every position, every title and every post. They cannot be trusted; they have sold their soles to the highest bidder and patriotism call is their way to lie and cheat to get elected. By locking steps with the biggest cheater, criminal and lawbreaker they are worse than Putin from Russia. Like a holy mantra, we need to prepare for upcoming election with conviction to win and throw these traitors out for good. 60% have already polled to defeat them at the next opportunity. Read "Trojan Horse - Democracy Hijacked", to fight back.

If it is so unpopular, why did it just pass? I also heard more callers on C-SPAN in support of it and calling the Democrats liars. We are living in two different information realms.

Because republicans believe the LIES of the Republican legislature and the LIES of the Republican administration.

Republicans LIE- and they are afraid of Trump. The only true things Trump says is “I will get revenge on you if you cross me.” He will.

True! People who believe the numerous daily lies coming from this rightwing cabal do so because they want to believe all the lies as if they were gobbling up a giant bowl of Sugar Pops with milk. Humpty just vocalizes his own deep-seated prejudices and hatreds, and make up stuff out of thin air for his base voters, who choose to be ignorant since they don’t ever want to admit that their prejudices are wrong, or even bad for that matter. They remind me of the confederates whose offspring still to this day despise the concept of equality of all races and peoples from different cultures, including so-called Christians who think Jesus was some kind of commie socialist! They have been militating against democracy ever since they lost the Civil War and then were never required to honor the equality and equal rights of those they formerly held in chattel bondage, who they bought and sold as if they were nothing more than livestock. They are on the upswing but we have seen their despicable plan for a totalitarian state in not just project 2025, but in many other venues. What is our “Project 2026”?

It passed because DJT has a choke hold on all of the maggot lawmakers. It passed in both houses as narrowly as it could possibly get by on passing. Those who supports it has been lied to, and they believe the lies. Unless of course they are among the billionaires that have their iwn chokehold on politics in this country .

I am personally gutted by this bill. It’s going to harm my mother in the near future and likely me, as a person with a chronic illness, down the road when I am no longer covered by my husband’s private health insurance.

Joseph Campo's avatar

Going to hurt my single daughter, not fully employeed, on medicaid healthcare. I am very worried - she has nowhere to go to get healthcare if they take away medicaid, unless she gets a job, which is getting harder to find.

Audrey Scanlan Teller's avatar

Ugh! I am so sorry. This Big Brutal Bill is going to hurt so many of us. I hope it does not as Republicans claim, but from a realistic perspective it just seems so devastating to so many to benefit the 83 American billionaires and large corporations.

Joseph Campo's avatar

It's a moral disaster. Why are these magats obsessed with hurting the least privileged among us? Do they enjoy doing this? I think the answer is a resounding, Yes, after seeing all this ICE lunacy and throwing BILLIONS more towards that, while taking away crappy healthcare from the poor. I hate this country a lot lately. Make America Great Again, my arse.

Audrey Scanlan Teller's avatar

Agreed. Emphasis on the greed part.

Joseph Campo's avatar

It's unfathomable how djt can hawk his products still, and the republicans think that is normal. They ALL are despicable and need to be voted out. It's so sickening.

Trump’s father told him to be a killer not a looser What a great legacy! Jesus teachings are past history

And this evangelical followers bow down to false godlike images of this traitorous felon who despises women. Religion is a cult.

I agree. He is the false god of the godless, soul-less Repugnican Party. Let’s see if Musky actually follows through on his threats to go after those who voted for this bill. Somehow I doubt it, since he frequently makes bold claims, such as when he will have people on Mars. He might as well go after them since he’ll never get the EV tax credits back with this motley crew. Since Musty, and certainly many of his followers, think he is some kind of genius or demigod, he’s probably just upping the stakes so he can attempt to stop their retribution against his many government contracts. So our national security, and our future survival itself is caught up in an endless feud between TWO false gods (I prefer to think of them as demons in need of exorcism.

The bill is awful. I trust you.

Much as it pains me to say , what makes you think that their will be an election next year? Hitler disbanded or disembodied their legislature or burned the building down. Welcome to HELL My brothers and sisters.

If there isn't an election next year, I would love to hear the fantasy of an explanation. And if there isn't an election, the I would as a Republican be raising hell with you. Has anyone in the majority or the WH said anything about not having an election.

We can provide unlimited arms to Israel for their genocide in Gaza, but not to Ukraine because the stockpiles are to low. This is analogous to telling Churchill "no" and siding with the Nazis in WWII.

The murder bill passed and we are here X.....what next? We now have Healthcare and food that will be taken away, oh, but we have a newly emboldened fully funded national gestapo. I feel so much better.

I love how you stand up for what you believe in. You don’t try to make everybody happy. It reminds me of what Harry S. Truman said while reflecting on his presidency. He said that he had made enemies, and he was proud of them. He was a straight shooter and at first that statement might seem offensive, but it is a good way to go through life. He wasn’t worried about offending people when making difficult decisions. I think you are similar, Adam Kinzinger. You stand firm in your beliefs, but you are also able to change your thinking when presented with new information, just like Harry S. Truman. If you haven’t watched “Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!” I recommend it highly!
