A political party that substitutes loyalty for competence has no ability to govern. They can scream about culture wars, build ballrooms, stage spectacles, and repeat slogans all day long. None of it lowers grocery prices, provides healthcare, educates children, or keeps a country safe.

We’re watching enormous energy being spent performing power while the actual responsibilities of government are ignored. Apparently knowing what you’re doing has become optional as long as you know who you’re loyal to.

Government is not supposed to be a monument to one narcissist. It’s supposed to serve 340 million people.
