There was no immediately pressing news today, so I got playing around for tonight’s letter and fell down a bit of a rabbit hole in a field that isn’t my usual turf. Since it’s now 1:30 in the morning and I’m only half done, I’m going to post a picture and tackle it again tomorrow.
It definitely feels like late August here on the Maine coast....

Favorable SCOTUS 8/19/22 Ruling in Georgia Case: Richard Rose vs Brad Raffensberger. SCOTUS reinstated a lower GA Court ruling postponing an election for 2 of 5 seats on the GA Public Service Commission (PSC) on the basis that the " at-large " voting system dilutes black voters voting rights. Amy Howe at www.SCOTUSblog.com has been tracking this case. The underlying huge issue is the changing of state voting rules close in time to an election allegedly too late to enjoin as unconstitutional. That regressive tactic did NOT work this time. It's not over. Author's Email: howe.amy@gmail.com courtesy of Amy.
How time flies. Boats and floats seemed to go in the water just a short time ago. The long days and early sunrises of summer are shorter. The nights are cooler. It's becoming real that winter storage is closing in. It's how a life comes and goes. But we always hope for another season. Let's do all we can for the next generation and not let this nation quit.
