SCOTUS reinstated a lower GA Court ruling postponing an election for 2 of 5 seats on the GA Public Service Commission (PSC) on the basis that the " at-large " voting system dilutes black voters voting rights. Amy Howe at www.SCOTUSblog.com has been tracking this case. The underlying huge issue is the changing of state voting rules close in time to an election allegedly too late to enjoin as unconstitutional. That regressive tactic did NOT work this time. It's not over. Author's Email: howe.amy@gmail.com courtesy of Amy.
The PSC has been going from scandal to scandal since we moved here in '82. Some real doozies of all kinds. They give scandal lessons to other states, NO political or economic development is too petty for them to pass up....
First time I've seen this word, and it is so appropriate in today's political climate. Thank you for letting me add it to my lexicon!
From Wikipedia: "A kakistocracy is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined as early as the seventeenth century."
Google defines kakistocracy as “government by the least suitable or competent citizens of a state”. Think of tfg’s entire cabinet, not to mention the man himself.

Hi Christine. Thanks for your kind greeting! You must remember the Southern Company, speaking of outlaw power conglomerates that spanned several states. Thankfully broken up, but the little companies carry the tradition on. Even Duke Power, one of the most reputable at one time, long ago....
Hi Daria. Let's just say wounded in action but fighting on with what I have! Glad to be on anyone's mind--thanks for your kind words, and I hope all is well with you. Only on LFAA once in a while now, but I find all of you as brilliant as ever!
Hi, Gus! I'm mostly away from LFAA these days but always look for you and will continue to do so! Many wise folk on LFAA to be sure. All is well here, heading to Italy for a papermaking/bookbinding workshop in September; excited to be going out into the great, wide world. Take care, stay safe. Fondly, Daria
This was a glimmer of good news down here yesterday! The "good ol' boy network" that the PSC has been operating under for years and years might actually have to, oh you know, actually REPRESENT the people it supposedly serves. GA Power has had it good for far too long (Wanna read about their incompetence? For starters, Google "Plant Vogtle", the first nuclear power plant built in this country for 30 years, and now approaching a $30 billion price-tag...beyond ridiculous!) and things just might be changing. We can only hope...

Many thanks Bryan!
Very encouraging indeed.

I call it the Public Disservice Commission.
The Public Disservice Commission is an example of kakistocracy.
Wow, I had to look that up, but what a perfect word and how well it describes the current Republican Party.
I'm having trouble finding the definition.
me too.... it's PERFECT!
I learned a new word! 🥳

And your 'kakistocs' have been around much longer than that!
But they seem to be breeding much faster lately....
Please link to a definition of kakitology.

It is past time to send the corrupt Republicans packing. Georgia Power, for one, gets all that they want.
And has for decades.
Right you are!
Probably taught Texas cretins, or vice versa
Hi Gus! Good to see you. Spunky as ever!

I let Ms. Howe know that I posted her byline & URL on LFAA.
Thank you, Bryan!
