I mean, stepping down in favour of Kamala has given an enormous positive upswing in energy for the Democrats, and a punch in the face for D.J. Rump, and now Joe deals him another one. All his bragging about making this prisoner deal with Putin ("he'd do it just for me") was just an air balloon, and Joe punched a needle in it. I swear, if Joe did this on purpose, he's a real master of timing...
I don't think Biden uses people as political pawns. If he was that sort of person....just waiting for the perfect political timing to bring them home, he'd have done it when the media was asking him to step down.
I think it took Kamala Harris's incipient presidency to make Putin come to heel. He could have done this swap years ago, Joe has been working on it from the beginning. It is always Putin who is the monster, and I think he fears Harris more than Biden. He thought he was going to get his toady drumpf, and is watching him slide into senility.
