Print out the entirety of Cory Booker's 25-hour-long speech on a wide ribbon of durable medium and wrap it around the White House Christo-like for all the public to come and read Booker's words.
Ned, appears that the people are angry at the republican party (maga party) but not angry enough to at least stay home in Florida and defeat this two characters supported by the pary apparatus and bring some much needed decency to Congress. But at least we can fee change is in the air. Thanks senator Booker and a few others for getting into the good troubles. We need to follow and support them .
DOWNLOAD, PRINT AND FILE EVERYTHING IN YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY ACCOUNT NOW
(ELON MUSK MAY DEMOLISH THE SOCIAL SECURITY DEPARTMENT)
You might want to access your Social Security file whether you are actively receiving benefits or not. Our government is in chaos and no one can predict the outcome. The warning of potential destruction of SSD is real and the warnings are coming from inside and outside of government circles.
If you don’t have an online account, open one and proceed to download every document relating to your accruing benefits; 1. Your Social Security statement, 2. Your benefit verification letter, 3. Copy your Social Security card, 4. Your earnings, 5. Medicare statements. If I have missed a document, download it hard copy it and electronically file them on your computer.
Suffice to say, some of us have elected a rogue government and the sole purpose is to cut funding, cut programs and reduce taxes for the wealthy. This is the game plan. The guardrails are being demolished.
Do this right now for your own protection. And as a side note, if you are able, April 5 is a national day of protest. Every state capital and thousands of cities and towns as well as the Capital in Washington will be flooded with We, The People.
No one really knows what those idiots are up to. You should have an online account, period. It makes it so much easier to track and see what's going on. I helped a friend setup her online account over the weekend. It takes like 5 mins. Make sure you do the multi-factor authentication.
Having a SSA acct is a good idea. If Muskox wants to mess with things, he will already have access to our info there. You may find a delay in setting one up since there are fewer workers helping the computer system.
My social security account was reduced by 1900 last month. I called the national office and they have sent me to the local office. It could just be medicare insurance benefits catching up but I am acting quickly, with Trumps demise of so many employees, I feel I need to act quickly on SS and my tax return this year, if I need a refund I might be out of luck.
I was talking to a contractor today who’s retiring soon. He said he believes his social security payment is going to be going up from the amount he’s now expecting once”they get rid of all the fraud and corruption in the government”. I was speechless. And I didn’t want him mad at me.
The optimistic Bill said Elon Musk "may" demolish the Social Security department. Bill, you can bet your cat it's going to be demolish or tranformed into something unrecognizable. 😆
On the hopeful side, according to Hubbell, there is a group of congress peeps now working together to try to protect SSA. Fingers, toes, & eyes crossed!
Musk wants to replace the COBOL that SocSec currently uses. Previously it was estimated to take five years. He wants to do it in a few months. But disruptions won’t matter. To him.
After you copy all your documents, store them on a thumb drive or external hard disk, something isolated from the Internet. I keep all my personal information on both a thumb drive and external hard disk, and whenever I have to look at any of it, I disconnect my computer from the Internet. (Of course 'disk' is now just a metaphor.)
I have my signs but, a couple of body parts are being very uncooperative! I may have to just put my signs out in the hedge in front of my home. I will, of course, be wearing my RBG shirt & socks. And my US flag always can be seen from the street.
I attempted to do just that 10 days ago - too late, I fear. Before I can even access my account it seems I have to wait for a permission letter from the SSA, which may never come now.
I moved to Florida three years ago. Didn’t want to but our only child needed our help. The transplants from liberal states are the ones who didn’t like their liberal state governments. But there are more of us blue dots here than people think and yesterday’s voting shows it. 💙💙💙
This is exactly right. A lot moved because they don’t want to pay state income tax which, as a motivation for moving strikes me as very anti-community minded.
Folks don't want to pay taxes as part of being in a community, but are the first to bitch when there are potholes on their street or it takes the EMTs too long to get to their home.
With everyone here talking about Florida, I just returned from three months in Florida, we go every year. I live in the Midwest right in the center of the nation. Because we are there for so long, we drive and almost aways a different route, but definitely through the south and red states. I also drive the secondary highways when I can to see the country. This year we drove to Ocala, Fl and got off the interstate and drove west/northwest up through the armpit and then up to Dothan, AL. and north to Mongomery and Burmingham, up to Paducah, Ky. and then to home in KC. When you drive through the rural parts of the country and look around a hell of a lot of it looks pour and like it hasn't changed ever. The other thing that's observable is the change of road conditions between states. When we crossed from Tennessee into Kentucky the road surface went to shit. As I drove along this rough stretch of road, I thought to myself that if there are any federal dollars (infrastructure) left to help Kentucky, they won't get them because Trump hates Mitch and he will make everyone in the state suffer because of his petty grievances. These are just my thoughts and observations but, it always makes me wonder where this country is headed, and it will be not what any of these people voted for. Well, maybe the one's that fly confederate flags.
Try reading "The View from Rural Missouri," a Substack written by Jess Piper, a very blue politician, who spend her time criss-crossing her state, speaking to the Dems there. It's quite interesting to get her take on the rural folks, what & how they think.
Want to flip the House? Protest 24/7 at CANF. Cuban American National Foundation.
2147 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135
3 Cuban American MAGATS represent majority Democrats. Call, email, picket Gimenez, Diaz Balart, Salazar. All have protested parts of Trump immigration policies. Gimenez, born in Cuba, was our Dem county mayor to 2020.
We have family in FL. Blue dots in a red place. We have visited regularly and in the past have considered, on occasion, briefly, moving there. There are many fine people in every state, including FL. But I don't feel safe there now. For two reasons.
Consider that the seniors who DO feel safe moving from Blue States to FL may feel that way because the state IS red. And consider that if one believes that the climate is in crisis, why would one move to one of the most vulnerable low lying states in America - with so much coastline?
The fine folks of Florida are at the beginning of a paradigm shift - financially. Property insurance is now a huge challenge. Often too expensive to consider - if even available. This will impact property values. Anger at the system is growing. The system benefits the rich. Hmm.
Think about this. The next big storm will devastate a region. FEMA will be a shell of its former self. The next governor will whine that the Federal Government has left disaster recovery to the states. Hmmm. Thanks Don and Elon.
The rich will rebuild with little concern that it might happen again. And they have other homes. The rest of the population will relocate having lost their nests and nesteggs. It will be one of many reasons the 90% will begin to resent the billionaires and their punishing policies.
What's that saying? "Don't Piss off Mother Nature"? There are forces at work that are changing Florida. I think those forces may cause Florida to change color over time. Of course, the bright blue ocean will do that anyway.
I do wonder what those that can't get insurance at any rate if, at all, are going to do when the insurance companies can't adequately insure against the evermore frequent and expensive disasters, despite some good work designed for a climate that no longer exists.
In a way, insurance companies are like Medicare advantage companies. You are insured until you need the insurance. Home insurance companies will either up rates or not insure at all. I recall State Farm finding a loophole to not indemnity Katrina victims on a technicality. I never used them hence forth.
What you do not see much about, the dems did not publish and this should have been a campaign issue by each local democrat. Overview
President Joe Biden's infrastructure spending (Bipartisan) Infrastructure Law (BIL), which he signed into law in November 2021. This law authorized $1.2 trillion in total funding over five years (2022-2026) for roads, bridges, rail, broadband, water, and other infrastructure projects.
Major allocations:
Roads, Bridges, and Major Projects – $110 billion
Public Transit – $39 billion
Passenger and Freight Rail (Amtrak, etc.) – $66 billion
Broadband Expansion – $65 billion
Water Infrastructure (Clean Water, Lead Pipe Replacement, etc.) – $55 billion
Electric Grid & Power Infrastructure – $65 billion
Airports – $25 billion
Electric Vehicle Charging – $7.5 billion
So far, hundreds of billions have been allocated to projects across the U.S., with more spending continuing through 2026. If Trump has not canceled this like he did the IRS hires
Jeff Tiedrich refers to Florida as "America's dangly bits," and given DeSantis' abuse of his constituents, leads one to conclude that Florida is a penal colony.
Or let's say "The Great Lakes have the safest weather in the whole United States"; yet people go where they can be killed in the south. The Great Lakes has every weather in moderation.
Sorry Eva but your statement is simply untrue. I live in Minnesota - our climate has been hammered by drought, 500 year floods which utterly overwhelm the storm sewer system in many municipalities in the Twin Cities, and farmers are having to invest in giant watering equipment because of ever changing rain patterns. My house was hit by a tornado 5 years ago - in December! A first. So no, our climate is as vulnerable as Florida - just a different latitude and temperature pattern.
I have watched the weather patterns in the Midwest my whole life. Things changed gradually, then most noticeably around 5 years ago. Lived in Illinois and Indiana. Things are not moderate, unless you count the drought the area has been in for those past 5 years. When it rains, it pours. Flooding. Tornados in off seasons. High winds. Early spring. Drastically diminished insect and bird count. Scant snowfall. And the rest of the world is burning. We did it to ourselves.
I used to attend an annual conference in Chicago every January. One year, the landing was so rough at O'Hare, we were all convinced that the jet's wingtips were going to catch on a snowdrift and we'd do cartwheels down the runway. The actual temperature (not windchill) was -67ºF.
Downtown, the city's crews had thoughtfully tied ropes between the streetlight poles so pedestrians could have something to cling to against the screaming winds that threatened to blow them down.
Upon exiting the limo, I felt the inside of my nose freezing during the short walk from the curb to the Drake Hotel entrance, even as heaters in the overhead canopy provided scant relief.
When I got settled into my room, I went to the window to see outside and found 1/8-inch of ice on the •inside• of the glass. I used a credit card to scrape a peephole. As I peered through, fern-like feathers of ice reformed on the glass.
Eva, only you would consider that weather "safe" or "moderate."
One of the high lights of my 80 years was being in my cabin during the Buffalo Blizzard watching the snow blow side ways for two days. We are enough in land, we didn't get much of it, but April of 2018, we got 21". Being retired, I just go out to feed the birds when that happens. It was ethereal. My dish is right by the cabin so I can just wipe off the snow and have internet.
Connection. We live in the Lake Erie region. The snowfall total for our town was 140.2 inches in mid March as reported by the woman who records it for the NWS. Do you think we're out of the woods yet? There's snow in our forecast for next week.
True, Janet, but we are told to take comfort in the fact that these 2 districts are deeply red and trompy won both by 30%+. Valimont and Weil cut that margin to 15% -- progress, perhaps?
These two House elections were ONLY held in Northern Florida for fill the two seats vacated by Matt Gaetz and Chris Waltz. The “entire FL population” was not voting. So maybe hold your broad-brush criticism just a bit.
True, Ricardo but their majorities were much reduced and this will add to Republican nervousness. Trump was so agitated that he screamed on Truth Social: "BOTH FLORIDA HOUSE SEATS HAVE BEEN WON, BIG, BY THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE. THE TRUMP ENDORSEMENT, AS ALWAYS, PROVED FAR GREATER THAN THE DEMOCRATS FORCES OF EVIL. CONGRATULATIONS TO AMERICA!!!" His approval rating is still 'underwater' and his ridiculous tariffs have yet to have an impact on American households.
Must be using the “ Musk technique?!” Did anyone call in bomb scares during the recent Florida election, similar to what happened in our presidential election last November? Seemed more like a strategy to clear out polling places for a bit. But to what end? Makes one wonder if there was a little “ musk mischief “ in mind?! And Trump so enthusiastically thanking musk for Pennsylvania & the election assistance. I can only imagine.
Indeed, they were encouragingly smaller margins. We need to contest every race, and never give away a seat too easily.
I doubt we can begin to try to match the tens and hundreds of millions of corrupting dollars Citizens United has enabled to be spent in individual races.
We shouldn't have to try to match the spending if the process is made fairer in ways people like John Sarbanes was trying to get established.
Florida -- as I said above, those are gerrymandered distrikcts. I think the Wisconsin vote should be an object lesson for Congressional Republicans who represent majority Democratic districts like mine.
Cast your fate with Musk and you will LOSE. Bigly.
"In 1985, Don began his military career when he joined the U. S. Air Force and served nearly thirty years on active duty, culminating his military career at the rank of Brigadier General. During his career in the Air Force, Don specialized in electronic warfare and intelligence.
"His military career highlights include two tours as a Wing Commander, at Ramstein Airbase in Germany and Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska; squadron and group command at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona; and expeditionary squadron command, flying combat missions over Iraq. Don served 16 assignments with four deployments to the Middle East, including one to Iraq from 2007 to 2008 during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Don is a National War College graduate, Distinguished Graduate of Intelligence School, Navigator School, and Air Command and Staff College. He earned two master's degrees while serving in the Air Force."
Surrely he also can't tolerate SIGNAL, Musk, and the ire from his constituents and major donors. Nebraslka farmers lost their crop subsidies.
I like Don Bacon. I called his office a couple of weeks ago to thank him for his remarks. He truly is the only Repub who has guts to go face-to-face with Trump and his thugs.
When are people going to see Trumps insanity for what it is? On the other hand, the dems could do a lot better job of demonstrating leadership. Thank goodness Bernie Saunders is speaking out. All the while Trump speaks from the hip and democrats waiting for the polls to tell them what to think in order to win. Dems, get some common sense. Don't wait for the US to be totally destroyed
There are promising signs of mobilised resistance - the exasperation of the courts has finally led to a contempt ruling against an obstructive administration official and more will follow; the dramatic Democratic success in the Wisconsin supreme court race and the reduced majorities for Republican candidates in their Florida stronghold; the public demonstrations at town halls, in marches and in pickets around Tesla showrooms; the tireless efforts of Bernie Sanders and Corey Booker's wonderful marathon on the Senate floor holding up the passage of a House bill that would severely restrict voting rights and a Senate bill that would curb the ability of lower courts to impose nationwide injunctive rulings against the government; and finally, actions by the DNC in joining a lawsuit against Trump's executive order to overhaul the electoral system and by 23 states to challenge another order withholding health funding. There are also rumours of Musk's chaotic tenure coming to an end.
I'm hoping the tariffs hit strong and hard. It's one way of making a point. And yet, there will be those making excuses for tramp, who, of course, doesn't care.
They always hit the poor and vulnerable hardest and inevitably add to their ranks. The rich have nearly always had the means to protect themselves from the worst impacts although the last time the US went down this path it led to the Great Depression which hit everybody. I believe that most other democracies will respond with true reciprocity (tit-for-tat, if you like). Trump's tariffs are nothing of the sort - they are an unprovoked economic attack on everyone (including tiny, uninhabited remote islands!!). The only exceptions are its nearest neighbours, and that thanks only to four Senate Republicans who chose not accede to the madness. And you're right, Barb, Trump has literally said that he doesn't care if car prices rise because he foolishly believes that only foreign car manufacturers and US ones situated abroad will be adversely affected. His Treasury secretary recently told economists that cheap imported foreign goods were not an essential part of the American Dream.
When people repeat what he says it spreads it. We cooperate when we keep repeating the lies and fascism of this regime. When people repeat what he says it spreads the trauma of this regime.
There's a whole Orwellian ecosystem of lies that reinforces and reinterprets his messages and their efforts are both ubiquitous and incessant. It's absolutely necessary to sustain the illusion since Trump can barely remember from one day to the next what his administration is actually doing. One of the late night comedy shows recently gave a perfect illustration of this when they showed him repeatedly boasting that he had the best memory of any person he knew and then later when asked about this told reporters that he couldn't remember making the claim. He's also told reporters that the buck stops with him for anything that his administration does yet he claimed to know nothing about the Signalgate fiasco and has maintained this diffident approach to the affair throughout. His dereliction when it comes to detailed policy-making has often protected him in crises in the past and is I think one of the reasons for his apparent inviolability when so many around him have been jailed or removed from office in disgrace.
I do not analyze him, watch him or think about him. I just don't get the fascination with him. What I have been focused on for the past nine years is either defeating his regime or surviving his regime.
You must not know the panhandle of Florida. The very fact that they won by a much smaller margin that previous elections is very significance. Have lived there and believe me it is MAGA to the core.
They are most certainly angry enough! This is a significant result. Florida is supremely red with it being a DeSantis stronghold and heavily gerrymandered. "Republican candidates in Florida won by about 14 points in each of two U.S. House races, but just five months ago, Republicans won those seats by 30 and 37 points. It appears that voters are angry at the Republican Party."
These numbers mean that enough voters voted Democratic to change the margin from 30 and 37 to just 14. This kind of incremental change is how Democracies work and States turn from red to purple to blue.
Margins matter. A lot. Ocean liners can't turn on a dime, and neither can the U.S. electorate, which (unlike the ocean liners) has been fed a diet of racism, fake news, and outright lies for decades. And that goes double for Florida.
Please don’t give up on Florida. There are more or us blue dots here in this bloody-red state than people expected. And I’m proud of all of them who voted. 💙💙💙
Sorry to say, but those mostly wealthy ole folks that snow-birded to FloriDuh are so insecure and tend to believe the safety and white Americanism of the propagandists.
Bill, I don’t know how to characterize those “snowbirds” - that’s a term we use to characterize folks who spend only part/all of the winter in warmer places. (Disclosure: I’m considered a snowbird because I spend four weeks every winter in Tucson and many of the northern snowbirds I meet down there are Democrats.) snowbirds aren’t registered to vote in their warm escape.
However, there is a class of people with lots of money who move permanently to Florida because there is NO STATE INCOME TAX. And I am guessing those folks are predominantly Republican. We snowbirds don’t consider them snowbirds. ❤️
Florida’s citizens voted for those two by a 14% margin each. That is a lot - a wider gap difference than the win in Wisconsin. That tells me a lot about the voters, not just the politicians. I see no reason to travel to Florida and spend money there
Right you are. Those FL voters elected Gaetz & Waltz in the first place which does not say good things about them. But I am very proud of Wisconsin and Senator Booker is the gift we needed just now.
Ricardo, you took the words right out of my mouth! :) I was thinking exactly the same thing about Florida. At least Wisconsin did the right thing. Also, I'm definitely liking Senator Booker more and more.
Florida was and remains a real long shot. It wasn’t going to happen and it didn’t. What is significant in those 2 elections has already been pointed out in HCR’s post. The margin narrowed, not a little but a lot. Just now, it’s time to praise the shift.
Absolutely, thanks to Cory Booker for saying what is right about America. Remember his words as we are insulted today with the propaganda of "Liberation Day". They will be celebrating their liberation from the oath they took to, "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". And we the people are paying the price by giving up our rights, safety, and pursuit happiness. We must stand together.
Cory occupied the DC News Cycle for 25 Hours before the Wisconsin judicial vote. Cory's speech being compared accurately to the monolog in 'Swimming to Cambodia'. Works for me ... certainly worked for Senator Booker.
Once again, Heather Cox Richardson writes, as she does six days a week, a truly splendid, 1000 word, historically accurate, fully footnoted, meditation on events. Today she wrote about Corey Booker's marathon diatribe, with illuminating detail, and closing with a grace note from Susan Crawford, "we took on the richest man in the world, and we won." It doesn't get any better.
Heather Cox Richardson (born October 8, 1962) is an American historian who works as a professor of history at Boston College, where she teaches courses on the American Civil War, the Reconstruction Era, the American West, and the Plains Indians. She previously taught history at MIT and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Richardson has authored seven books on history and politics. In 2019, she started publishing Letters from an American, a nightly newsletter that chronicles current events in the larger context of American history. Richardson focuses on the health of American democracy. The newsletter accrued over one million subscribers, making her, as of December 2020, the most successful individual author of a paid publication on Substack.
Richardson attended Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire.[1][2] She received her AB, MA, and PhD from Harvard University, where she studied under David Herbert Donald and William Gienapp.[3]
As a historian, Richardson advocates studying history to learn to distill complex situations into something easier to understand. She does this through her newsletters, books and podcasts.[4]
In 2021, Richardson was on the Forbes 50 over 50 list[22] and received the Frances Perkins Center Intelligence and Courage Award.[33][34][35] In 2022, USA Today recognized her as one of the Women of the Year.[36][7] In 2023, The Guardian described her as the single most-important progressive pundit since Edward P. Morgan from the 1960s.[11] In 2024, the Authors Guild Foundation awarded her The Baldacci Award for Literary Activism for 2024.[37][38] In November 2024, Richardson was awarded the Kidger Award by the New England History Teachers Association at the NCSS Conference in Boston, Massachusetts.[citation needed]
Yeah…let me get this straight: We all subsidize Elon so he can then take what used to be our money to turn around and use it to influence our elections? Let’s stop subsidizing Elon and the other billionaires. No more tax breaks, no more subsidies. Glad he failed in this instance…tax the rich and solve many of our problems.
Mardie, I have this image in my mind of Elon going broke spreading his ill-gotten wealth across the globe to finance fascists because he believes he will be at the top of the NWO food chain.
Ill-gotten wealth? Lmao. He was getting subsidies for years as were many other companies in this country. In fact one that’s out of business right now called Solyndra lost a half a billion ….
This was your favorite human being when he was saving the planet and he’s done nothing different with his card company or his SpaceX company or his NeuroLink company where is inserting ships into the brains of disabled people allowing them to walk again or his Starlink. company. This man is a once in a lifetime, inventor and all the liberals can do is hate , for no reason makes me sick
1. Tesla has the worst safety record of the major car companies.
2. SpaceX keeps blowing up.
3. The first people Elon fired were the government employees investigating Tesla and SpaceX.
And you think it's a good idea to let him put chips in people's heads?
Let's not forget he threatened to pull Starlink from Ukraine and has shared Starlink data with Russia.
Also Tesla collects personal data from its cars without telling owners.
And again, you think it's a good idea to let him put chips in people's heads?
Also, based on the agencies he's cutting, Musk doesn't think disabled people are worth saving. Yet you believe he is putting chips in their brains to help them?
I was done with him once he interfered in the rescue of the Thai schoolboys. But nothing since then has been good.
With Agent Orange in the White House and the plethora of cowards in Congress, the FElon is likely to profit bigly from regulatory reductions and to accrue more big beautiful government contracts.
You guys don’t stop the hate you’re gone from 27% popularity approval rating to 21% just this past week so keep it up and soon you’ll be in the single digits and all you have to do is realize that you have to see the results of a ministration and 60 days is too soon and you know it and to allow 15 million illegals in the country. If you don’t stop the hate , it’s only gonna get worse for you
By the way, Marty, I think I’ve asked you this probably 15 times and never gotten a response.
What percent of the total income tax collected is paid by the top 1% of wage earners in this country. ? Anybody want to chime in? You need to do your research and realize who’s paying the bulk of the taxes here instead of keep hearing BS about the tax, the rich need to pay more. I’m not saying they don’t because I am a true provider, and that Social Security wages do not need to be capped. There needs to be some plan, figure it out not to tax the employer, but for the employed there should be no cap on income
Please do your research it’s kind of embarrassing to hear the same stuff all the time and when I ask people what it is, they have no clue
Yeah, omg people are so close minded. Elon has on the largest vehicle company worldwide for 15 years. You think that he uses THAT money to
Interfere in elections any difference than George Soros does from his source of income? Which, by the way, is a lot more nefarious if you’d like to look
Now, let's expose who the 'winners' were, of his money. Another Nazi set-up, with the 'winners' pre-selected. C'mon, "Media", show us you still give a f**k!
Although I appreciate the subtle humor in “waste” the incessant doubled jeapordy of men parading the term in full view -buying souls with a world dying by strongmen tactics - just makes their poisoned cake -so obvious.
Each move furthers truth , the varied bodies lie limp from their struggle for basic needs… not met.
Why are you people so gullible? Why do you think that Trump is working for the benefit of the rich when that’s not the case it’s actually the opposite and that’s why he won the election and you guys haven’t change the channel to see the truth. Really sad
Actually DJT doesn't really work to benefit the rich, he only works to benefit himself. The crypto coin/token he launched on inauguration day gives him a direct funnel for anyone, including foreign countries, to pour millions/billions into his personal account.
Well, Belinda you have a creative imagination. Donald Trump could spend $1 billion a year for the rest of his life and never run out of money. He doesn’t need a dime so stop the nonsense. Not to mention that the Biden family took about 30 million from foreign investors.
Do you think no tax on Social Security will benefit you do you think no tax on tips will benefit those who serve do you think the tax on overtime is the benefit the rich give me a break
It proves nothing. It proves that Wisconsin has a majority liberal Supreme Court, and still does so what does that prove? On the other hand, they voted for voter ID. Liberals also spent also a lot of money in the state in a relatively meeting with Supreme Court election in Wisconsin. There was $100 million spent in this race, including people like Pritzker, another national Democrat donor and George Soros.
Yes, Booker managed to do something almost impossible in today's attention economy, GRAB and HOLD the news cycle for over 25 hours.
Drug Muder (who writes the "Weekly Sift") channelling Chris Hayes' book "the Sirens' Call", wrote the following last week: "What we've been seeing these last two months is the new attention-politics as a governing strategy. In traditional politics, an incoming administration tried to focus on a few simple themes, with the idea of raising enough public support to push one or two big ideas through Congress....Trump hasn't been doing anything like that. Instead, he's doing a million things at once, including many that circumvent Congress in a way that is flatly illegal. By ignoring Congress and relying on executive actions, he avoids the need to marshal public opinion. Quite the reverse: It's the opposition that needs to marshal public opinion to stop him. And that's difficult, because what opposition leader or opposition agenda can get attention when Trump grabs all the attention in the room with a new outrage every day?"
Yet Musk gets more credit for the damage he is inflicting in service of trump and the Republicans who are allowing the destruction of the federal government.
The blame should be equally attributed to trump, musk, Congressional right-wingers, and unlimited, unregulated money in politics donated by the ultra-rich Oligarchs to undermine our Constitution and rule of law.
Don't forget "the supremes" who are corrupted by six republicons. They brought us havoc that can't be forgotten. i.e. citizen united, They've destroyed the US one slice at a time. They should be jailed.
Hey here, we are that ever optimistic soul mystic shadow is here. Bring everybody down and use words that she doesn’t even understand herself. Elon Musk has done more for the Democrats and they even begin to understand but they understood it six months ago. They understood it for the last 10 years when they were out buying Tesla’s by the millions. And they understood it when SpaceX safe to astronauts Biden refused to do so. And they understood it when Elon Musk is also creating NeuroLink which plants to chip in handicaps peoples brains to allow them to walk. And he has star link which provides Internet service to devastated areas like North Carolina, and Pacific Palisades, and Ukraine. Are you guys not change the channel and wake up? It’s only gonna get worse for you.
Well, you sure make it easy to demonstrate your ignorance. Good job.
And using the word Fluffer, that’s pretty funny. Only someone who is done it would know what it is so thank you. lol.
Now on the other hand, if you’d like to visit Auschwitz with me and see what you’re talking about when you use the word Nazi, I’d be more than happy to meet you there. Unbelievably ignorant and moronic
I need to read more on his game but he could be in the running for 2028. I just hope that the Democratic Party sheds some of the overly accommodating leftest stuff that doesn’t fit well with the majority.
Interestingly, when I just opened Facebook on my iPhone, your Letter today was there, and I was able to start reading it, but it suddenly disappeared. Are you able to see it on Facebook again, or must we all read your Letters via email or Substack?
Yes, looks like we’re seeing not only the “disappearing” of people but also of some free speech. I could not find the Letter on FB this morning so also had to get it from email. Yesterday, the last Letter visible was from 3/26. Today only the Letter from 3/25 and before remained. If this indeed is shadow banning, it is totally unacceptable.
The only impediments on speakerphone free-speech Marilyn are coming from the left not from the right.. fact, I’ve had dozens of participants in Heather’s thread that have told me to go away, who have tried to tell other people how to block me not to listen, and not to mention all the personal insults have come my way
But I would like to understand how do you think there’s a threat to democracy right now and any of your rights that are been taken away?
Resist is not the answer. Even James Carville says it’s foolish to resist because that’s all you’re doing is hating rather than creating your own agenda makes sense for the American people putting forward a leader who can lead your party, which currently is void of one. That’s how you win elections not by resisting
Nah. Anytime I bring specific issue to the fore I get blasted. Search your soul. Maybe give a listen to Governor Gavin Newsome on topic. A friend just mentioned positions he had stated to bring us back to the middle as ugly a word that some of us mistakenly believe.
Do NOT confuse the Fox "News" description of the Democratic platform with what the Democrats were actually proposing. Oddly enough, they were not in favor of having kids go off to school as one gender and coming home as another. They were not in favor of defunding police forces. They were neither Marxist nor socialist.
They were not in favor of mature (post-puberty) men transitioning to female in order to participate in elite sports (say college level). Can anyone think of more than one person who has actually tried to do that? Or actual incidents of men in dresses using women's restrooms, another Fox-based horror story?
A lot of voters were easily fooled/scared.
A number of surveys during the 2024 campaign demonstrated that most voters preferred the Democratic proposals to the Republican ones, if you showed them a list without party labels.
John, I hate to say this but the number of the story is your desk for Jennifer this fall or actually true do your own independent research there were lawsuits now pending in schools for some of the very behavior that you say is false. A national survey was done by three independent service that said 80% of the American population does not want men participating in women’s sports but every single Congress person in Washington DC on the Democrat side of the aisle voted against that lol can you imagine. The Democrat party wants to be on the 20% side of the ledger. How do you think that’s gonna get them back to a leader ship role?
So… you don’t have any specifics, just “leftist stuff”. Which makes it impossible to disprove. In science, in order to be a valid hypothesis, it must be falsifiable. In other words if it is impossible to prove it wrong, it is worthless because it can be utterly wrong but you can’t prove it.
It took me about four minutes to find six cases of lawsuits against schools and teachers and school boards, etc. regarding this particular issue so it should be very easy for you to find this is just one of the many.
The daily signal the Liar Thomas case Arlington, Virginia a Michigan case and Illinois case and on and on And unfortunately, your limited scope would not have anything to do with science or on falsified proof as these are cases were a court needs to decide, but that lawsuits or complaints were lodged at school boards or directly at schools or staff at schools. This is not science Steve. This is human behavior.
The specifics are all evident online, and you can certainly research them at your leisure. Once again, I know what I read. I know what I saw. I know what I heard. I’ve seen the video. Many of these cases are not as you put it science. Science can only be used when numbers and specific facts are in evidence or dispute Table. Human interest stories there’s no science. When a school says, I’m gonna teach the alphabet to kindergartners or first graders and their curriculum includes a for abortion q for queer and t for transgender. I think that’s evidence enough of something going on. Do you not and that’s just one example
I’m comfortable in my own skin. If you’re uncomfortable with my post , just take a look online. Lately by the way, steve that’s all there is is leftis stuff. One website just talked about an hour about morning Joe’s lies and continued lies about Biden’s mental issues only to come on the air after the election because his book was coming out to lie about what he felt about Biden at the time, unfortunately it’s all on video. March 20 24 Joe Biden is a sharp as ever
In mental faculties are Stellar. And more and more Biden cover up and lies are coming out every day even in books by liberals. Stories like he’s cutting Medicaid. He’s cutting Medicare. He’s cutting things and giving the money to his billionaire friends. ? Yikes. If John Fitzgerald Kennedy were alive today, he’d be a middle of the road republican based on where the Democrats are today.
Real like totally great with you, and sometimes it takes courage to get blasted but little by little it might sink in and you were on the right track. Absolutely my friend. Unfortunately, for Newsome, there’s too much baggage where he stood for everything. He is contradicting himself now, but I’m sure there’s people out there that can move to the middle a bit. And bring back a democrat party
Or how about if we push the actual truth about the Democratic Party and not the false narrative pushed by MAGA. That would be a really good start. Start by calling Democratic views progressive and not “leftist” (which is true for 95 percent.)
Unfortunately, for the Democratic Party though while 95% might be progressive 5% of snow in control of your party, Bernie Sanders, AOC, Jasmine Crockett those are your leaders? Call Annette stunt pool by Cory Booker omg. 25 hours and said nothing. And if you look at his eyes while he’s doing this, The Man was crazed
Bill, your comment was the finest one and the most open minded in this entire divisive diatribe. And I said above, if the Democrats stop the crazy loon stuff and organize themselves and get an agenda and get a leader, it will help her country because one party rule without competition. It’s not a good thing and maybe even someday The parties could find a way to work together again like Clinton, and Gingrich instead of clawing at each others faces
Hey Brian, and I guess you didn’t see the fact that years ago, Cory Booker called the filibuster and abuse of power. If Not for double standards and hypocrisy what would you guys have left? Just like Jasmine Crockett and you guys probably don’t get this kind of information. She was complaining about how trying to impeach judge Boesberg was against the law and an and affront to democracy. But the news didn’t tell you was that AOC tried to pass a law a little while ago, which Jasmine Crockett signed onto …..to impeach not District Court judges, but two Supreme Court judges!!! AMAZING HYPOCRISY . Here’s two quick examples of what I mean. Double standards and hypocrisy. Who ever heard of destroying a company that you hailed as a demigod for years for saving the planet because he was producing electric vehicles and now you hate his electric vehicles. Amazing. And now you’re violently trying to destroy them. DOGE.GOV. Which lists every single thing that DOGE is doing in detail, transparently and none of the crap that’s coming out of the left MEDIA like cutting Social Security Medicaid is happening. It’s how the news media is lying to you again and you just believe it fully without doing your own investigation. Many people on TV, The other day were asked about what DOGE is doing and that’s exactly what they said you’re stealing from Social Security for stealing from Medicare and enriching themselves,
But when asked if they’ve ever gone on DOGE.gov, they said no, they’ve never done that.
So for those of you who would like to be informed just visit gosia.gov and see exactly what’s happening not what the media is telling you is happening.
Impeaching judges is legitimate, but not because they disagree with your position. I believe those two Representatives wanted to impeach the SCOTUS JUSTICES for illegally accepting millions of dollars of gifts from people who had business before the court— which is pretty unethical, even you have to admit.
I just as I say it this morning there’s a blurb that’s going around that says Sumer salary is $184,000 a year and his net worth is $84 million. McConnell story it’s pretty much the same
Well, if they were able to actually convict the supreme -court judges of doing what they’re suggesting, I believe it would be a different story, but I don’t think they actually got to that point. However, if we’re going to start looking at issues like this, it’s going to cause what is about to happen and that is that the GOP is about to start investigating how congressmen and senators become multimillionaires on $185,000 salary. Just one of the reasons I keep talking about perm limits we know how it’s done and it’s very obvious that it’s done but it really needs to stop. It’s on both sides of the aisle
Kimberly I believe you are correct. But I think the point is also talking about all of a sudden this is very much like Lawfare, the district judges that have basically districts to care for, are now placing an inordinate amount of national or countrywide injunctions against Trump at a pace, perhaps 10 times that of the democrat presidents , and it is no surprise at all that These judges have been appointed by obama etc. and it’s blatantly obvious. How do you curtail something like this? When judges can now eliminate what would normally be considered executive branch Authority? The exception being needing the assistance of Congress in order to do some of these things, but otherwise overriding the executive decisions.
And the concept is that the judicial branch is now attempting to usurp the power of the executive branch.
I’m sure you’ve seen the number of national injunctions compared to other presidents recently. Ever since the Democrats have lost the election, this is their source of power now.
In most cases, this is actually inhibiting the president from executing his agenda, which is not illegal.
Bad construction of the last sentence what I mean his executing his agenda is not illegal.
What I believe they’re attempting to do is to pass a law, inhibiting district judges from invoking national injunctions. They tried, unfortunately, and failed recently because they tried coupling that issue with another but I believe they’re going to make another attempt at it. I think many these issues just need to be taken up by the Supreme Court, which is a national concern versus district judges, or even federal judges that are isolated to a specific region of the country.
Something has to be done. Even Soto mayor said the same thing which is really surprising that if you let one party do it when the other parties and power the same thing is gonna happen it’s gonna stay full government entirely.
Perhaps our “liberation day” can begin today!!!! Godspeed to the people of Wisconsin, who would not be bought by a fake cheesehead with big bucks to bribe them……….
I really would like to see a full transcript. I started watching (on https://www.booker.senate.gov/live) about 14 hours in when he was talking about Margaret Chase Smith's speech and was still there when Angus King was asking about VA firings. Except for a break to go to the supermarket, we listened in through the moving comments about John Lewis near the end and the very much more personally important ones Cory Booker, Catherine Cortez Masto and others, including David Hogg, not mentioned in the speech, but who's description of "The most Powerful part of Cory Booker's Speech," to him, was about a Wisconsin woman who's husband came down with Parkinson's like his dad's. The mentioning of so many families dealing with family members who have or had Alzheimer's or Parkinson's was particularly personal right now, along with memories of several other families we have known in the past 35 years.
I watched the count of current viewers (of just that site) reach as high as 118,192 and still 114,785 after the record had been broken ( I believe around the time he mentioned a "Declaration of Interdependence" that sounded so right for these times.
...and channel that energy and take it to every city, state and voting district. This was a good event, but it's only another start and over, now Congress needs to take it to the streets. People need to take it to the streets. More action and more talk.
The story of a blind man clued me onto his use of a special tape recorder like the ones the FBI used that could play recordings back slower or faster (in his case, I believe 3 times faster), without distorting the frequency and tone.
I found it useful in being able to playback video and audio from 1.5 to 2 times faster for some people that speak at steady rates, though I doubt I'll ever be able to match the speeds some blind people seem to be able to more effectively.
I'd like a complete transcript and audio recording of the entire 25 hours and 5 minutes since the last 11 hours I was able to watch were so detailed, on point, and moving.
I believe I could benefit from listening to a faster playback of the first 14 hours, especially if accompanied by a transcript.
America has thrived because of heroes. Thomas Payne, G. Washington, Lincoln, Perkins, FDR, JFK, MLK, JL, and now Booker and AOC. Those heroes have kept democracy alive. America is not Germany, Hungary. DEI will keep the country defeat Trump.
Ms. McCutcheon, brilliant idea! What symbol of American grace and greatness could be more perfect. These qualities of America lies within the people, not the government, and not the leaders.
Christo’s work on the White House will provide an excellent counterpoint to the occupant-in-chief’s having already wrapped himself, however inappropriately and clumsily in the flag.
Yah, Hope in Booker’s effort and the public response coupled with the denouement of the Musk-Trump regime’s theory of buying allegiance through the threat/promise of obscene campaign financing as demonstrated with the Wisconsin win and the Florida republican slippage. These are the perfect lead in to the April 5 Hands Off demonstrations.
Heather writes, "On the floor of the Senate, Booker again invoked the late Representative John Lewis of Georgia, who had been one of the original Freedom Riders challenging racial segregation in 1961 and whose skull law enforcement officers fractured......"
"whose skull law enforcement officers fractured".
Besides being an oxymoron, calling them law enforcement hurts my brain. It always has and it always will.
My only problem with the police is that some of them are really nice and understanding. Most times they just want to help or are stopping you for some infraction like speeding or a broken taillight-not for hanging an air freshener on your rear-view mirror. Better psychological screening should be done before hiring police. It is telling that DeSantis put out a call for more police ( or his personal army?). Most of them have had violence on their records.
They have psychological screening already. Implicit but effective at choosing people like those who cracked Lewis’s skull. Allowing them to carry guns also selects in the wrong direction. The police force should keep all the guns under lock and key and pull them out only when needed in special situations, and then issue them only to people with specialized training in disciplined use of force.
I started watching at about 2 pm. Honestly it was all inspiring which is amazing. It was the 2nd time I’ve ever watched C span for any length of time. The first was J6. This certainly cleansed my palate.
Hi Professor, you have stated repeatedly that you are looking for heroes. We have found one in Senator Booker. Let's keep hoping there will be more heroes to follow. Thank you Professor for tireless reporting of daily developments. You are the first hero.
I noticed that too, and I thought Zuckerberg probably had something to do with it. But then, Facebook is always discriminatory with different things. Sometimes you do a post, and later, like magic, it disappears.
The two most necessarily salient points here Heather has completely correct.
First, Cory Booker's selflessness in going over and over out of his way to acknowledge others, beginning with John Lewis. Dems could not cite others -- our betters -- in their 2024 national failures. Cory Booker shows we can do much better. The others are out there. Real life betters and those from our novelists, memoirists, essay writers, biographers, and historians.
That the real resource.
And second, Heather fittingly concludes with Susan Crawford in Wisconsion -- and the good people of Wisconsin -- clearly showing it's people by which, or by whom, we live. Not money. Not Elon Musk and his hundreds of billions. Not the fat orange felon in the White House and his mercilessly push for more criminality for more money, more power, more alliances with the worst corrupt of the world and of the U.S.
The DNC flubbed it again, rejecting Ben Wikler. Wikler has done amazing organizing in Wisconsin. And delivered on many important state races.
The Democratic presidential loss - in Wisconsin (and Michigan) - was, in part a miscalculation of Gaza protestors. And the vampirism of Jill Stein swooping in to capitalize (for Putin) on those whose despair and righteous anger turned them into self-defeating 'one issue' voters, or as the case was, non-voters.
I was so very proud to be represented by Cory Booker yesterday. His words - ALL of them, were absolutely inspiring. Let’s get out there and get into “good trouble” in any way we can. And yay Wisconsin!
Some candidates, and Booker is one of them, seek election in order to serve. Others seek only self-aggrandizement at any cost to others. RFK Jr is just one example.
Stein may claim she’s a Green, but she’s a Putin supporter in reality. She’s selfish and a denier of reality. The only one Jill Stein is really out for is Jill Stein
You are so right, the Dems (and I) thought that chump rejecting the immigration bill that was hammered out, would piss off repubs. But nothing could have stopped the steam roller of unlimited money to buy the most heinous ads re immigrants in our history. And that’s saying something. Dems depended on anger about Roe being trashed, but they did not see the money tsunami from Elon in time. It started while chump was whining about Joe dropping out, and he pivoted to hatred and misogyny. I hope Dems use Ben Wikler in some way. I was so disappointed about that.
Dems could have sympathized with the people of Israel -- prior to Oct. 7, 2023 they'd been coming unto the streets by the hundreds of thousands in protest at Netanyahu's corruption. And the parallel cruelties of the far-right settlers perpetuated on Palestinians seemingly in sadist perpetuity on the West Bank.
Biden and -- to her shame, her defeat -- Kamala would never say anything negative about the wannabe dictator Netanyahu. Just kept the massive arms shipments flowing while the Israeli military indiscriminately, vengefully killed tens of thousands.
Americans should have had options better than that. We all knew on this one subject Biden and Harris stood for nothing other than war, war, war -- massive, lop-sided, mad war for the sick dictator.
I don't remember ever reading anything related to the fundamental guilt and stupidity of Hamas for not realizing the consequences for the Palestinian people for the criminal act of war committed on October 7. Would they expecting something less of despot Netanyahu?
At least the Palestinian people, spontaneously and besides the risks are raising against their oppressors. That's the only resolution of this conflict . And then we can take on Netanyahu.
You do know that Netanyahu and Sinwar were allied in marginalizing the PA. Netanyahu's state terrorists and Sinwar's stateless terrorists agree on one thing - a battle to the death rather than the two state solution, which the PA was willing to consider. To that end - Netanyahu directed funds to Hamas (which is coming out more fully in Netanyahu corruption trials) and ignored all warnings of the build up on the border, which resulted in the Israeli intelligence and military failures facilitating the Hamas atrocities of Oct 7. Which gave the Kahanists running the Netanyahu coalition exactly what they wanted - an excuse to exterminate Palestinian people and deport any remnant that survived. The sin of the American Left is in abandoning the Israeli Left. The sin of the American government is buying the AIPAC CUFI (Christians United For Israel) line - that enforcing the Leahy Laws and pausing offensive aid to IDF units who are blatantly violating humanitarian law, is antisemitism. It is not.
During the Democratic convention, the Harris team's refusal to let Abbas Alawieh to whom the UAW gave its support to, speak to the delegates was a complete blunder and would come back to bite her. A big mistake in my view.
Many of your comment it's speculation to say the least lin, but that's your right. My right is to defend my extended family after I lost 6 million of them in the early 40's. What happened on October 7 was a little example of what might come next and I fully agree with our saying "never again". My concern includes Musk's nazi salute at scumbag president's inauguration and support to AfD in Germany as well as Manchurian vice visit and comfort offered to the same political party .
at least Harris was publicly in favor of a two-state solution, and said so at the convention as well as later. Netenyahu wants nothing to do with that and takes very active steps to prevent it.
So she was not totally in the tank for genocide. And a LOT of Americans, including many Democrats, would have been outraged if Biden had cut off shipments of bombs of the kind that Israel was using on Gaza (which are not the same as the 'iron dome' weapons which are more justifiable provisions.)
Sen. Cory Booker give me hope and a challenge. We cry, “Where are our leaders?”, while we must be looking in the mirror. I must act, speak, and march as I am able at 76, to rise and lead locally. We all must take to the streets in order to change government locally. We must look at our school boards which have been co-opted by the tunnel vision of Moms for Liberty. That’s an oxymoron for you. We must inform our city councils and county commissions, our metropolitan government to pull them back to providing services to those with lack of basic safety and security needs: housing, food, and healthcare. State governments taken over by regressive MAGAts and ignoring the cries of their constituents must begin to pay attention to our voices. We can be the leaders or followers of local voices who speak truth to power. Be an active part of those who phone legislators, write letters and post cards to voters, make phone calls, and talk to our neighbors, organize, inspire and act in defense of our democracy and Constitution. We are not without standing, so stand we must. We can motivate our elected to act, and Cory Booker has challenged us to do so.
We should remember how long we were in Afghanistan to get the Talban. Didn't work. There are more terrorists groups in the mid east than there are flavors of Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavors. You're not going to get rid of them. What Isreal is doing now is not really killing Hamas but killing Palestinians, children, civilians, families.
And what was Jill Stein doing several years ago dining with Putin, a couple of Putin's top men, and a U.S. guy who's name I've forgotten. ( ex-military? Flynn?). I always felt that Stein was in it for the donations (money) she got. She seemed a little too sanctimonious for me.
Agree 100%! I hope they utilize him moving forward. I haven't heard much at all from Ken Martin and that is really disappointing, given our grave situation. He should be front and center. Was he in Florida, 24/7? Don't get me started on the Gaza protest vote....wonder how those voters feel about what is happening now.
Excellent point lin. ,but that shows not just the ability of the Russian and local intelligence services and vampirism of otherwise nobody Jill Stein but the limited ability of good part ofbthe American voters to discriminate, make sense and defend their own interests.
Spot on, Phil. Corey Booker has shown that relentless opposition works. Chuck Schumer and James Carville should both play dead together and get out the way.
trump supported candidates have lost before, so it is not a guarantee that they will win. The problem is although we are seeing that the lower courts are important, we still need the Congress people and Senator. The poor judges who make rulings against trump are being threatened with impeachment ( they can't do that, can they?) or so many appeals that the cases end up in front of the SCOTUS-which will most likely be overturn the rulings in trump's favor. There are sometimes some surprises in Barrett's and Robert's votes. We can only hope.
listen to the majority of Senator Cory Booker’s 24+ hour speech on the Senate floor. I am so very grateful for Senator Booker’s eloquent articulation of where we’ve come from, where we are now, and where we need to go.
He is quite an extraordinary person, and he, and all who helped to make this happen, have my gratitude. The message is clear…
“This is not right or left, it is right or wrong.”
“This is not a partisan moment, it is a moral moment. Where do you stand?”
💛🇺🇸💛
I highly recommend everyone listen to the speech, from the beginning, in the days/weeks to come. Think of it as 24, one hour podcasts. You will not be sorry that you took the time to listen.
💫🇺🇸💫
And, I hope that everyone can attend a Hands Off gathering this Saturday, April 5. Use this link to find an event nearest to you:
I particularly liked the passage in which he spoke about his ancestry, revealed by Professor Henry Louis Gates, which included both a slave and a slaveholder. We 've heard so much of this anti-woke nonsense that excludes anyone who's not white through and through, as well as the threat to the Smithsonian museums. I woke early this morning, hoping that while Senator Booker rests from this incredible speech (a sermon, really) that he will remain safe, because what he says should shake the current regime to its core.
Maybe it works better as a rallying cry to the proponents of democracy. Whatever the case, I think it was the response that many of us have been waiting for in the Senate.
The current regime has no core. No shame either. Nothing will shake them except loss of power, and that would require a majority of white voters to cast their votes for Democrats, something that has not happened for at least 50 years.
I didn't see nearly enough of it but what I did see was amazing and so well said. I watched most of the last few hours and really appreciated some of the other senators asking questions so Senator Booker could get some breaks or maybe water (don't know how he held it so long though?).
I would like to watch it again in it's entirety too. Although, really I would like to read the entire transcript of this historic, awe inspiring speech.
He probably used a catheter and a colostomy bag to take care of that problem. Which makes me appreciate more what he did because that stuff is definitely not comfortable, even just for 24 hours.
Yes that's what I was thinking. But it's an incredible feat no matter how he did it. Truly a stellar speech, a marathon in endurance and public speaking too.
According to one of the post-marathon interviews (with Rachel Maddow), Sen Booker said he fasted and dehydrated for several days prior. Makes the stamina he showed even more remarkable.
I doubt that Tom, he probably balanced his fluid levels before he started by emptying himself as much as possible, and then limiting his fluid intake to what he could burn off while speaking, the trick as I see it was to stay hydrated enough to be able to speak for that long. My hat’s off to him, it was a remarkable display of truth telling along with compassion.
After Facebook censored your post yesterday. I have a feeling your subscriber count is going to dramatically increase. As it should, we cannot trust tech oligarchs to spread the truth. Thanks Heather for your hard work
You are welcome here, Mark! I spent a lovely couple of days in Warwick this past summer (heading from Lincoln to Cornwall on a kind of busman's holiday combining work and leisure). Warwick Castle was the only major stone pile I had not had a chance to see, because it doesn't factor into my research (medieval historian) but it was a pleasure to visit!
I checked my email for Substack's email and it was there. Immediately checked facebook and it was there. Got something to drink and found FB letter gone (again like last night).
Not meaning a housekeeping issue to obscure this moment with Cory Booker. The infusion of a North Star moment the entirety of us needed!
“the power of people is greater than the people in power.” ~Cory
Reading this list of names actively turned my stomach. I know almost every name on this list and every one is a criminal, and sometimes insane as well. How do individuals like this acquire money and power? Oh, wait, they are criminals. That's what criminals do.
I usually post her publicly on my page. Since I haven’t been on facebook today, I have no idea if her letter got thru or not. Twitter is lost. Tictok apparently has really cracked down on progressive voices from what I’ve heard and now Heather on facebook? They did throttle Joyce Vance that’s when I went to Bluesky. Much better atmosphere there.
I routinely post Dr. Richardson's Letters on Facebook. Sometimes it won't let me, unless I try several times. I also post Paul Krugman's Substack articles, and recently Robert Reich. Gotta offer people bits of reality!
I always felt I was missing a lot by not signing up for Facebook, but always stood fast in that avoidance because of their misuse of personal data and connections.
In my case, a job in the aerospace community as a tech writer put me on the periphery of some intelligence related material and personnel. I did not keep or particularly need any security clearance after I left the military (where we just gathered satellite weather data for forecasters who used it to support upcoming operations or risky photo intelligence gathering). Essentially, we made sure we didn't reveal the areas of interest especially before (or after) the operations. The only time I was told to shut up was (still in a secure facility) guessing who the forecasters were one the Desert One mission, one of whom I met nearly 30 years later working at the same college.
I'd started to join LinkedIn, thinking they would be more careful, but they almost immediately started linking me to people I knew or suspected were in very classified positions.
I do not regret not joining Facebook (or LinkedIn) for their overly revealing connections I feel they should not have made so easy.
What an amazing event! Senator Booker was eloquent and open hearted. We must all follow his example and speak out. And Susan Crawford’s win is a rejection of the oligarchs. Let’s keep the momentum going and make more “good trouble” on April 5. Thank you very much Heather Cox Richardson for your unfailing dedication to the American people.
Outstanding current historical reporting. I watch Dr. Cox Richardson on Facebook because I was lucky and can get her there right now. I will watch her wherever she goes. She is the Voice of America that was destroyed by Trump, Musk, Zuckerberg, and the oligarchs. They are destroying our country, our healthcare, our environmental protections, the IRS, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, our scientific research enterprises, the NIH, and the EPA, among other People Caring organizations. We won't let them, as seen in Wisconsin tonight! Thank you Dr. Cox Richardson for your power, your passion, and for giving us hope and the will to carry on no matter what Trump and his oligarchs try to do to the People of the USA!
Senator Cory Booker not only made history, but with his passionate eloquence in speaking up for We The People, he won a lot of hearts and minds.
Also in today's news, Doug Emhoff's big law firm, Willkie Far & Gallagher, caved to the Trump regime. I hope he walks the talk of his opposition and resigns from the firm.
While Florida is a disappointment, Wisconsin is a wonderful win! Thank you for the good billionaires like my governor JD Pritzker and George Soros for countering the nasty taint of Elon Musk in the elections. It is a powerful win for Susan Crawford.
The night before I had attended a Europe Calling webinar, where research was presented that showed that Bot accounts promoting Musk, and the AfD were dominating on X so that no matter which party candidates a person sought to look at, they were offered up content mostly on the AfD as recommendations. The research cannot yet prove that this influenced the vote, but it was clearly trying to. The confluence of Right wing platforms and right wing bots is attempting to influence all elections, and this is something that we are now living with in the USA. Let us hope in studying this behavior the scientists are able to figure out how it causes people to vote, and then laws are madde to prevent this.
Today was my first non angst day in recent memory, not because much changed for the better, the massacre to our health systems making things worse, but because I spent the day with Cory Booker’s voice in my head and he soothed me. I feel a shift in the wind with the Wisconsin win, and I’m going to start the day more determined than ever to fight back. Heather, as usual helped.
I think the results of yesterday’s special elections, (Hooray for Susan Crawford in Wisconsin!) will inspire the Musk/Trump Junta to move even faster in their wanton destruction of American society, call it what it is, in a race to the ‘26 midterm elections. They know they’ll likely lose the House, and maybe the Senate as well, so wreck as much you can until then, nevermind the collateral damage.
I can think of no words to adequately describe and praise the courage, and stamina, of Corey Booker on the floor of the Senate yesterday. I hope the speech, every word, is published in hard-bound book form. I would be proud to put the probably two or three volumes, with gold lettering, on the shelf alongside the Federalist Papers and Tom Paine’s “Common Sense”. Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address comes to mind as well.
Thank you, Corey Booker.
I look forward on seeing everyone coming out next Saturday.
PHIL, I didn't know there were so many out there. Good job for pointing that out. Maybe they need to be more visible, laud and consisting given the urgency and the scope of destruction in front of us. Thanks for your reply 👍
Speaking of Tim Walz, Mike Lindell says he’s going to run against him because people don’t like Walz!! (Is Lindell still smoking something? Him over Walz??)
Print out the entirety of Cory Booker's 25-hour-long speech on a wide ribbon of durable medium and wrap it around the White House Christo-like for all the public to come and read Booker's words.
That's the ticket.
But Wisconsin was another story - Yay Wisconsin! The people said Fusk Musk and the Dark State. Way to go!
On another matter:

Suffice to say, some of us have elected a rogue government and the sole purpose is to cut funding, cut programs and reduce taxes for the wealthy. This is the game plan. The guardrails are being demolished.
Do this right now for your own protection. And as a side note, if you are able, April 5 is a national day of protest. Every state capital and thousands of cities and towns as well as the Capital in Washington will be flooded with We, The People.
Thanks, Bill, for this heads up! And I’ll be out there on April 5 - the first of many more bigger and bigger protests!!!
Question: would opening an online Social security account in order to download my info, make it easier for my account to be on the Trusk regime radar?
No one really knows what those idiots are up to. You should have an online account, period. It makes it so much easier to track and see what's going on. I helped a friend setup her online account over the weekend. It takes like 5 mins. Make sure you do the multi-factor authentication.
No. He goes to the source.
Having a SSA acct is a good idea. If Muskox wants to mess with things, he will already have access to our info there. You may find a delay in setting one up since there are fewer workers helping the computer system.
Thank you for the warning Bill. I live a nostril above the waterline financially thanks to Social Security.
MAGA has an answer to everything. There are some people that we just give up on. I am so happy about Wisconsin!
I have already taken screen shots of everything, and downloaded some. But I do need to double check that I've got it all, so thanks!
Bill Katz,
Thank you so much for the info Bill. I am looking into a location nearby!!!!
I have my signs but, a couple of body parts are being very uncooperative! I may have to just put my signs out in the hedge in front of my home. I will, of course, be wearing my RBG shirt & socks. And my US flag always can be seen from the street.
Excellent suggestion, Bill. I'm going to repost it in Together for Good. Seniors need to know.
I attempted to do just that 10 days ago - too late, I fear. Before I can even access my account it seems I have to wait for a permission letter from the SSA, which may never come now.
Already tried. Can't do much more than check the spelling of my name.
Good suggestion! I just completed the task.
I agree, Stephanie. That was encouraging.
You'd think with a large population of seniors (many transplants from much more liberal states), Florida would smarten up . . . .
Thank you, Senator Booker, and thank you, Wisconsin voters!
No one likes you Elon.
Try reading "The View from Rural Missouri," a Substack written by Jess Piper, a very blue politician, who spend her time criss-crossing her state, speaking to the Dems there. It's quite interesting to get her take on the rural folks, what & how they think.
In 2002, I drove across the South and in Louisiana there were state signs posted that bragged "Zero Federal dollars were spent on these roads!"
Worst potholes and cracked surfaces I had ever seen.
Made absolutely no sense to me.
I've been in Florida all my life and I want more liberals here. Unfortunately we have De Satan who attracts Trump type
Sorry, I wouldn't even drive through let alone vacation in or move to a red state. Not a fan of Florida's heat and humidity either.
Those are Gerrymandered districts.
Want to flip the House? Protest 24/7 at CANF. Cuban American National Foundation.
2147 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135
3 Cuban American MAGATS represent majority Democrats. Call, email, picket Gimenez, Diaz Balart, Salazar. All have protested parts of Trump immigration policies. Gimenez, born in Cuba, was our Dem county mayor to 2020.
Margins are getting narrower!
They will live on the streets and blame the libtards. They will learn nothing.
It’s the impoundment issue again. Can a president stop payment on projects authorized and funded by Congress?
Sadly, Bill, not so blue an ocean as it once was!
The water is warm though. I'll give them that.
Let the blue state M.A.G.A.s move to Florida and get washed away.
Jeff Tiedrich refers to Florida as "America's dangly bits," and given DeSantis' abuse of his constituents, leads one to conclude that Florida is a penal colony.
Love Jeff!
I thought so too, Eva, but this winter’s 15 FEET of snow, and this week’s horrific ice storm caught us a bit by surprise….
(Actually, we wouldn’t trade for anything!)
…every weather in moderation …and so often, Eva!
Some people will never admit they made a mistake or say I'm sorry. I'm surprised by people with money still follow the maga party..
True, Janet, but we are told to take comfort in the fact that these 2 districts are deeply red and trompy won both by 30%+. Valimont and Weil cut that margin to 15% -- progress, perhaps?
That don't make no cents........ there......
These two House elections were ONLY held in Northern Florida for fill the two seats vacated by Matt Gaetz and Chris Waltz. The “entire FL population” was not voting. So maybe hold your broad-brush criticism just a bit.
Nah, I think a lot of them came from red states just to be warm. Too many of them & others have fallen under the spell of MAGA.
You can fool some of the people all of the time.
…and THAT’s who the MAGATS focus on J L!
Correct, JL Graham!!! "The blind follow the blind."
Plus, elections in Florida have a high probability of fraud and abuse. Odd that both candidates won by the same %, don't you think?
Must be using the “ Musk technique?!” Did anyone call in bomb scares during the recent Florida election, similar to what happened in our presidential election last November? Seemed more like a strategy to clear out polling places for a bit. But to what end? Makes one wonder if there was a little “ musk mischief “ in mind?! And Trump so enthusiastically thanking musk for Pennsylvania & the election assistance. I can only imagine.
Do you have proof of cheating? Otherwise you’re just bloviating like Booker.
We using Republican logic.
They weren't won big.
Certainly not compared to last time when the margins were around 30%.
Probably just as 'big' a margin as Trump's weenie.
Florida -- as I said above, those are gerrymandered distrikcts. I think the Wisconsin vote should be an object lesson for Congressional Republicans who represent majority Democratic districts like mine.
Cast your fate with Musk and you will LOSE. Bigly.
Still asking everyone u to check out Feathers of Hope. https://jerryweiss.substack.com/
E.G. Repubnlican House member Don Bacon -- "Pro-Ukraine GOP rep ready to risk Trump’s wrath: ‘I feel so strongly about it, I just don’t care’" https://nypost.com/2025/03/31/us-news/pro-ukraine-gop-rep-don-bacon-on-risking-trumps-wrath-i-feel-so-strongly-about-it-i-just-dont-care/
He obviously didn't get the memo from Karoline Leavitt that the administration has 'closed the case' on Signalgate and moved on to other inanities.
Wait until she gets OUR MEMO!
Absolutely. tramp wants to have a legacy as the most famous President ever. It will more likely be the most infamous President ever.
Again. Repeating their lies only spreads them.
But those are districts tgat Repubs won by 30+ points four months ago and by only 14 points now. That’s a huge shift.
You must not know the panhandle of Florida. The very fact that they won by a much smaller margin that previous elections is very significance. Have lived there and believe me it is MAGA to the core.
Florida's panhandle is just Alabama with a line drawn across it.
That would be Some Good Trouble ~~
You are absolutely right. Floriduh seems to be a lost cause.
Please don’t give up on Florida. There are more or us blue dots here in this bloody-red state than people expected. And I’m proud of all of them who voted. 💙💙💙
Move every election +15 toward Dems and we’d control House and Senate in a giant blue wave.
Giving up isn't an option. Not even for a seemingly lost cause. I am 63 yo and I do not expect to see FL turning Blue in my lifetime.
Wouldn't it be more productive to expect FL to turn blue in your lifetime and get out there and work for it?
I see no reason to travel to Florida and spend money there
I hope he has started a trend. More democrats need to do this.
I was referring to Booker...
Senator Booker made a valid point. It is we the people who have the power. There are more of us then them.
I agree. 🤝 ¡Bravò, Senator Booker! ✌🏽 ¡Bravò! 🥳
Just curious, what rights have you given up?
As soon as I read Constance’s words, I thought, “That’s the ticket!” You beat me to it.
What do people say about great minds? 😉
He is the ticket. Totally posturing (which I’m not against) a 2028 run
In axuality, I find Senator Booker to be sincere, if a little intense.
Cory occupied the DC News Cycle for 25 Hours before the Wisconsin judicial vote. Cory's speech being compared accurately to the monolog in 'Swimming to Cambodia'. Works for me ... certainly worked for Senator Booker.
Glad Elon wasted his money.
DR. Heather Cox Richardson bio:
And as of this morning, FB is deleting her posts without explanation.
Dr. Richardson talked about this a podcast yesterday. She called it shadow ban. I can still see her on FB. See her on you tube, Substack and Letters.
What will make you look at his record?
Sorry, Rick but he was never my favorite person at all.
If you don’t stop the hate , it’s only gonna get worse for you
Given how dependent red states are on the programs Musk and Trump are cutting, you should be worried about yourselves.
Or do you think we'll be dumb enough to save you once again from the consequences of your own stupidity?
The geriatric crowd on here is dying off and quickly being replaced with young conservatives. Time is on our side!
Well, I see all the uninformed haters are here today
Indeed so. Sometimes money can't buy political positions. Citizens United a blessing to the most wealthy; not so for MOST people in our country.
Yeah Brenda, did you talk about George Soros by any chance? That’s another problem with the liberals you only see one side of the aisle.
Jasmine Crockett, blaming the Republicans for trying to impeach a judge who is just a district judge when she signed a law penned by AOC
Twin Peaks to Supreme Court justices not just the district judge if it wasn’t for hypocrisy and double standards the Democrats would have nothing left
Without a doubt, we are on different pages and certainly have different opinions. Thank goodness for the First Amendment and the Bill of Rights.
And I agree with you 100%.
MLMinET. If only he could loose it all and he would be like the rest of us who live paycheck to paycheck. Or live under a bridge👍
For what ? A tax break for their friends?
So very sad.
Why are you people so gullible? Why do you think that Trump is working for the benefit of the rich when that’s not the case it’s actually the opposite and that’s why he won the election and you guys haven’t change the channel to see the truth. Really sad
They are old and still think tv news is honest.
Actually DJT doesn't really work to benefit the rich, he only works to benefit himself. The crypto coin/token he launched on inauguration day gives him a direct funnel for anyone, including foreign countries, to pour millions/billions into his personal account.
https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/how-trump-family-took-over-crypto-firm-it-raised-hundreds-millions-2025-03-31/
https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/28/business/crypto-mogul-trump-coins-civil-fraud-charges/index.html
Yes , this should prove to Musk that the American people have woken up and can no longer be bought.
In Deerborn the votes are bought with scarves. You are clueless.
Why? Are you glad your Soros waste his money
And that's difficult, because what opposition leader or opposition agenda can get attention when Trump grabs all the attention in the room with a new outrage every day?"
https://weeklysift.com/2025/03/24/politics-in-the-attention-economy/
Look the NAZI fluffer is back. lol
Yes, he did as I said above, he stood up there for 25 hours and embarrass himself. And what did he prove? They could go 25 hours without peeing
That’s all Democrats have is a stunt will you you evaluate that?
The Democrat party is dead. Heathers is a dying voice among the elderly. She knows it, and herself is coasting to retirement.
I need to read more on his game but he could be in the running for 2028. I just hope that the Democratic Party sheds some of the overly accommodating leftest stuff that doesn’t fit well with the majority.
"...overly accommodating leftest stuff..."
You mean the stuff FOX talks about?
Thank you, Heather.
Another one gone since I wrote this! 3/24 now the last. Eerie. Resist.
😢
Happened to me too, went to my email right away.
Bill Katz, Such as? Im just curious about your thoughts
Your hypothesis is invalid.
https://barringtonhillsobserver.com/2025/03/14/deerfield-middle-school-administrators-force-teen-girls-to-change-in-front-of-boy-in-school-locker-room/
Change the channel steve. The evidence is out there go see for yourself.
Remember - we want the tent to be large enough to accommodate all views! All views and colors count!
👍👍👍
By the way, if you’ll check the fax, some of the most successful legislative issues were resolved during the Clinton Gingrich era.
It’s a good comparison, a good recollection. And I’m counting on Senator Booker to have a far happier destiny than Spalding Gray.
Booker makes Spalding Gray look normal.
Doge.gov. Not Gosia. Voice texting isn’t even picking up the word DOGE yet
Brilliant.
I love it!!!
Print it in Braille so our blind citizens can read it.
Fantastic Idea!
Thank you to Senator Cory Booker and to the New Jersey voters who put him in place…from a very grateful and envious Kansan.
And a brilliant 25 hr speech it was!
Yes! I remember Cristo, and was present during a presentation he gave a the university I attended. Great idea!
LOVE IT!!
Ms. McCutcheon, brilliant idea! What symbol of American grace and greatness could be more perfect. These qualities of America lies within the people, not the government, and not the leaders.
Constance, your parents named you wisely.
Christo’s work on the White House will provide an excellent counterpoint to the occupant-in-chief’s having already wrapped himself, however inappropriately and clumsily in the flag.
A fantastic idea! Where else? At places in each state would be powerful.
Thank you Heather for this letter & your live chat today. Cory Booker was inspiring this last 25+ hours!
I am participating in the Hands Off demonstration. I am thinking I should use the Let's get into good trouble for my poster.
OUTSTANDING! Gary, your points are superb. I especially liked your reference to oxymorons!
Thank you Linda. Thanks to Heather for the quote! 👍
Unfortunately “law enforcement” personnel are still, not quite to the last man but close, the same kind of people who cracked John Lewis’s skull.
British bobbies don't carry guns or do they now?
Just the excerpts in this letter moved me to tears.
I watched the last 6 hours, and there were several moments that brought me to tears.
The question today and every day until democracy in America is restored is:
Are you ready to stand up and say, “Enough is enough”?
I started watching at about 2 pm. Honestly it was all inspiring which is amazing. It was the 2nd time I’ve ever watched C span for any length of time. The first was J6. This certainly cleansed my palate.
Hi Professor, you have stated repeatedly that you are looking for heroes. We have found one in Senator Booker. Let's keep hoping there will be more heroes to follow. Thank you Professor for tireless reporting of daily developments. You are the first hero.
It sure was Gail. It’s historic in our times, and I suspect it will become a historic landmark far, far into the future.
On that note, let’s not overlook all the book “burning” that is currently going on in by direction of these would be overlords.
Heather are you no longer putting your letter on Facebook?
On HCR's FB/Youtube live yesterday she said her Facebook account was wonky and content was disappearing.
I noticed that too, and I thought Zuckerberg probably had something to do with it. But then, Facebook is always discriminatory with different things. Sometimes you do a post, and later, like magic, it disappears.
😧
Finally someone is speaking out
The two most necessarily salient points here Heather has completely correct.
I was disappointed that Ben Wikler didn't get the job at the head of the national Party. But I am happy that he's still here in Wisconsin.
Ben Wikler was on with Brian Tyler Cohen -- you can begin to understand why Ben is so good at what he does.
I was disappointed as well. Lately I've been thinking it may have been a blessing in disguise for him.....
Yes, future opportunities will likely tap his talents in service to our country. He is gifted.
I would like to point out that the Greens in Europe are 100% behind Ukraine not Putin. So, is Stein a true Green?
Bravo Corey Booker. Let's support him and show up this Saturday for the "Hands Off, National day of action"
I don't know Jill Stein's stance, but does it matter, playing spoiler for the US supporting Europe and NATO and Ukraine?
Yes, she has been a spoiler forever. It’s her main agenda, seems to me…
Cory Booker has amazing communication skills. He could explain calculus to an 8 year old and they would understand.
New Jersey is very fortunate to be represented by him as well as the rest of us.
He’s the closest thing I have for representation. Without reservation I can say we have nothing in Tennessee but Trump sycophants.
Absolutely, lin.
Hindsight is always perfect.
Hamas, Ricardo, just another consequence of the West Bank poisons.
U.S. arms will not solve anything ever there.
Now, a concerted program for the schools of the region? That's a road not yet taken.
at least Harris was publicly in favor of a two-state solution, and said so at the convention as well as later.
Sadly, John, correct you are.
Yes, Flynn.
People who are “one-issue” voters need to THINK MORE!
Spot on, Phil. Corey Booker has shown that relentless opposition works. Chuck Schumer and James Carville should both play dead together and get out the way.
Schumer and Booker's interaction during the marathon helped me appreciate Schumer -- he glowed with warmth, humor and respect for Booker's lead.

The better angels of our nature are not done (for) yet!
If you haven't seen "Food Inc. 2" it is worth watching. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26342131/
Corry Booker does a nice job of explaining some of the problems with the food industry and is working towards reforming the massive food industry.
Massive is correct. Large bloc of monopolies vertically integrated within the food chain. Very ominous.
I posted today on Blue Sky, a paragraph from Greg Olear that I think you would enjoy. jdintx
trump supported candidates have lost before, so it is not a guarantee that they will win.
I was fortunate to be able to
listen to the majority of Senator Cory Booker’s 24+ hour speech on the Senate floor.

" . . . core," progwoman?
I think, rather, the miasma of money.
How he stressed the need not to hate.
Agreed. Intense but grounded anger can be a wake-up call. Hate can enable genocide.
And before it reaches that depth, it skews the perception.
It was extraordinary that he was able to coherently conduct two interviews after his speech. What leadership!
Will be doing so.
After Facebook censored your post yesterday. I have a feeling your subscriber count is going to dramatically increase. As it should, we cannot trust tech oligarchs to spread the truth. Thanks Heather for your hard work
I’ve just this minute given up on finding Heather’s recent ( now vanished ) fb posts and taken up a subscription here!
Love from Warwickshire, England! 🇬🇧♥️🇺🇸
Unf**kingbelievable. Zuck is just a bought toadie. Glad I got banned in 2020. I told the truth. He hides the truth. Go to hell FB. Rise Blue Sky.
Is it official? They censored or blocked her post? Some of her older posts also disappeared from my feed.
Yep. He didn't have to resort to the telephone directory. My goodness, I was impressed by him.
Why is anyone still wasting time at Widdle Markie Schmuckerberg's FleeceBlock?
TC, good to see you back.
Best quote ever…
We all can keep reposting her letter...over and over and over again!
Karen, it's ever two ever-interlinked sets of dead souls, zombies, living dead:
Musk. Bezos. Zuckerberg.
Putin. Trump. Netanyahu.
Thiel. Sackler. Miriam Adelson.
Mohammed bin Salman. Xi. Kim.
Leonard Leo. Charles Koch. Harlan Crow.
Erdogan. Orban. Sisi.
Kushner. Mercer. Uihlein.
Reading this list of names actively turned my stomach. I know almost every name on this list and every one is a criminal, and sometimes insane as well. How do individuals like this acquire money and power? Oh, wait, they are criminals. That's what criminals do.
Same old serpent syndrome: A monetary black-hole where the heart should be
73 million Americans voted for the felon. Every last one of them belongs on your list. No exceptions.
I believe it’s shadow blocking. So selecting posts that Zuck’s algorithms don’t like. Eg the truth 🙄
I forward HCR, choosing one of her quotes first, to 15 people and post HCR to facebook too. Seems like the least I can do
When I am posting something controversial, I include a photo of my dog because it usually confounds the algorithm. I recommend doing that.
Fuckerberg!
Share from here to FB to get her words out. They may shadow ban her, but not all of us!
Better yet, delete your Facebook account. Keeping it helps keep Zuckerburg in business.
Why are you still in FB? The only way to hit “zucks” pocketbook is to quit FB.
Mine too. The little i said something about Substack page can’t be found
What an amazing event! Senator Booker was eloquent and open hearted. We must all follow his example and speak out. And Susan Crawford’s win is a rejection of the oligarchs. Let’s keep the momentum going and make more “good trouble” on April 5. Thank you very much Heather Cox Richardson for your unfailing dedication to the American people.
...which has won her the unfailing support of the millions of American people who know her.
Just say "NO" to Musks.
Her chats are also live on YouTube.
Walk the walk, hard but necessary
Oh, so do I!
I sure hope so.
Wisconsin person here!!! And thank you. Heather!!
And as one French commenter said, "A woman, too! That's the icing on the cake!"
😃
Brava ! Wisconsin is "not" for sale !
Nor Greenland.
Congrats! My parents had a home there—I miss it.
Hate and fear = anti votes. Just my take on family MAGAts
Please. (Apologies to Henny Youngman)
!!
I have a feeling that many of Booker’s words will one day be quoted in History textbooks…
♥️🇺🇸
Yes Caroline, his time record is a side note. The important thing is what it was said. Thanks for noticing and posting. 😄
Exactly Ricardo 💥
I'm sure of it, it was history in the making.
I stand in awe of Senator Booker!
Cory Booker was astounding.
And his supporting cast.
Appalling to see Quisling Schumer horn in.
Schumer is ghost of things gone wrong.
Now THAT one just made my day! Thank you!
There're others like Cory Booker lin. ,we need to get them out of the closet .

Let the pillow guy run for office! Best thing ever!
Quite a reply, thank you Phil. Are they loud enough. MSM will ignore unless good trouble and then no guarantee
I sleep better knowing four of them are from Michigan, and one lives only 15 minutes away. That, and well, the Canadian border...
They are The Congressional Progressive Caucus - and are not in the closet.
Thank You!
I bellieve Booker invited him.
Remember “When we fight, we win!”? Let’s test that claim!
